'X Factor' Shake-Up: Is Nicole Scherzinger Replacing Cheryl Cole?

Simon Cowell's new show 'X Factor' doesn't premiere for another four months, but there's already trouble in his post-'Idol' ploy for TV domination.

TMZ is reporting that one of the previously announced judges, British pop singer Cheryl Cole, is out. Replacing her? Former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger, who was set to co-host the show with Brit Steve Jones.

Why the switch? No one knows for sure -- could it be the rash of "Who is Cheryl Cole?" searches lately? -- but it doesn't bode well for the show, which has already been taping audition rounds in L.A.

Fellow judges Simon Cowell, L.A. Reid and Paula Abdul are staying put, as far as we know, but that leaves us wondering what happened and who'll step into Scherzinger's vacated slot as co-host.

No one from the network or Cowell's camp has commented on this story, so expect more details as they come.

There were rumors a few weeks back that Scherzinger nixed co-host frontrunner and former 'High School Musical' star Corbin Bleu, telling producers to go with Steve Jones instead. Apparently, the Doll's got power ...

Fantastic. Who wants a mimer to judge them? Nicole was great on the UK version and in my opinion more talented. Cheryl said horrible things about Nicole and Paula so good riddance, Now I will watch.

Wasn't it reported the other day that "The X Factor" was pressuring Cheryl Cole to dump Derek Hough because they wanted to re-invent her image? I found that hypocritical when other judges have spouses or significant others. Perhaps Cheryl decided she wasn't going to dump Derek after all the support he's given her over the past year especially after her bout with malaria.

I have read in other articles that besides that Cheryl Cole is not well known, they wanted her to break up with her boyfriend Derek Hough because he wasn't popular enough...geez. Also, her strong British accent might not go well with the American public because they might not understand her. Moreover, there is a rumor that she didn't get along with Paula. So, who knows the truth but Nicole Scherzinger is definitely known worldwide and she can sing, dance, act, model, judge, write music, host etc. Nicole is one multi talented Independent Woman!!! She's also a gorgeous hottie and she's a big plus for the show.
