Lauren Alaina: Scotty McCreery 'Might Be My Boyfriend'

As the confetti was raining down on 'American Idol' winner, Scotty McCreery, we found ourselves leaning closer to the TV saying, 'Wait, did they just?' Before cutting away from the pair a moment too soon, it looked as though runner up, Lauren Alaina, planted a kiss on the American idol.

Just after the smooch, when asked if the duo were in fact an item, Alaina told Entertainment Tonight, "he might by my boyfriend ... ask him."

But Alaina may be riding the relationship train solo, when asked about the pair's off-screen relationship McCreery made it clear that he is definitely "still single," although he admits that they have "gotten really close, but I don't know about the more than friends stuff."

So is McCreery holding out on the "more than friends stuff" for one of the thousands of young ladies who would love to call the country crooner their beau.

"The ladies weren't like this back before 'American Idol,' it was tough on me back home," he said.

With the Idols Live Summer tour fast approaching, perhaps the pair will have what it takes to make things official on the road.

If you are 52 you probably remember what happened to Karen Carpenter after some thoughtless remarks about her weight. Words can kill. This Lauren is adorable. Actually, beautiful. Everyone is beautiful.

Lauren is gorgeous. She has the cutest shape ever. Who wants a stick figure anyway? I'd take looking in the mirror and seeing a body like that over a size 0 any day. She should be so proud of what she sees. It's people like you that make body image such a big issue in this country. I'd love to see what you look like and pick you apart the way you did her. If Scotty can't see it, trust that someone else will.

This young gal has a beautiful voice. Carrie Underwood was a bit heavy when she won AI. Look at her now. Carrie is gorgous. All grown up. And the same will happen to Lauren.She is great, and Scotty will be around a long time. Congrats to the both of them...

She is beautiful now & so was Carrie Underwood when she won. I hope she doesn't lose any weight because for once America can have a great role model who doesn't have to be anorexic looking, or have to live on a diet to look the way most stars look.

she is not chubby..that is baby fat and when she gets a little older it will melt right off. She is very cute and has a personality from hell that I just adore. I think Scotty is holding out for his "man".....just sayin.

When I first saw these two on the auditions, I thought they were as cute as can be. When they made it to the finals, for the first time, I didn't vote, because as far as I was concerned, they were both winners! As far as a couple, maybe? Let them decide. They are both very young and have their whole lives ahead of them.

My daughter was a bit chunky when she was Lauren's age. Now, at age 25, she is tall and thin...5'6" and 115lbs. Her mom looks great and I'll bet she turns out to look just like her!
