Lauren Alaina: Scotty McCreery 'Might Be My Boyfriend'

As the confetti was raining down on 'American Idol' winner, Scotty McCreery, we found ourselves leaning closer to the TV saying, 'Wait, did they just?' Before cutting away from the pair a moment too soon, it looked as though runner up, Lauren Alaina, planted a kiss on the American idol.

Just after the smooch, when asked if the duo were in fact an item, Alaina told Entertainment Tonight, "he might by my boyfriend ... ask him."

But Alaina may be riding the relationship train solo, when asked about the pair's off-screen relationship McCreery made it clear that he is definitely "still single," although he admits that they have "gotten really close, but I don't know about the more than friends stuff."

So is McCreery holding out on the "more than friends stuff" for one of the thousands of young ladies who would love to call the country crooner their beau.

"The ladies weren't like this back before 'American Idol,' it was tough on me back home," he said.

With the Idols Live Summer tour fast approaching, perhaps the pair will have what it takes to make things official on the road.

I think its wrong to judge people but it sure looks like you are doing just that. What's this with the " Hill Billy" thing. Because he was raised in the south and its mostly country western. He is an awesome singer and will go far and yes, there are many incredible country singers out there. I take it your more into Rap ( Oh My Gosh, that stuff is nonsence) but, then angain the way your talking is too............ I was voting for Scotty the whole time.

I actually agree with this, but in nicer words. I feel as though there were people on the show that were better than he was. I seemed to sing different songs, but the same way every time. He didn't seem to have any depth or any other pitch to his voice. I feel like Haley, Casey, or James would have been the "perfect" winner. Scotty is a really good country singer, but American Idol is more than just one genre which everyone else could do but I didn't feel it with him.

I don't know if you are male or female but Lauren is a BEAUTIFUL GIRL and I wish I looked like her and had her personality. Calling her Chubby is rude, obnoxious, and obviously you have issues. She is only 16! Remember Jordan Sparks was the same size during the show and now look at her. Skinny is out - full figure healthy looking women are in!!! Scotty can only dream of having a girl like Lauren!

Lauren is not chubby. She is very attractive and seems to be a really sweet young lady with a very bright future. Scotty is still in high school so if there is a budding romance they have time. They really do make a cute couple!

Whats size matter ...Lauren had a great voice and will be a star.....Do you want to talk about size .......check out Kelly Clarkson,......Scotty was great to ...Good luck to both of them ...If there meant to be a couple ....let it be......Why not have the record a duet together?

They are truly both good wholesome kids and the parents can take credit for doing a fine job! If there was ever a tie on Idol, it would of been this season. Lauren and Scotty both have talent beyond their own dreams! Lauren is a beautiful gal, and Scotty a clean cut handsome guy and we wish them both a world of success!
