Lauren Alaina: Scotty McCreery 'Might Be My Boyfriend'

As the confetti was raining down on 'American Idol' winner, Scotty McCreery, we found ourselves leaning closer to the TV saying, 'Wait, did they just?' Before cutting away from the pair a moment too soon, it looked as though runner up, Lauren Alaina, planted a kiss on the American idol.

Just after the smooch, when asked if the duo were in fact an item, Alaina told Entertainment Tonight, "he might by my boyfriend ... ask him."

But Alaina may be riding the relationship train solo, when asked about the pair's off-screen relationship McCreery made it clear that he is definitely "still single," although he admits that they have "gotten really close, but I don't know about the more than friends stuff."

So is McCreery holding out on the "more than friends stuff" for one of the thousands of young ladies who would love to call the country crooner their beau.

"The ladies weren't like this back before 'American Idol,' it was tough on me back home," he said.

With the Idols Live Summer tour fast approaching, perhaps the pair will have what it takes to make things official on the road.

well scotty, i could have told many that, he is a kid and country singer, telling his almost partner, we met here, became close here, and i love you to her. but maybe i am the only one that heard that.. and today, the christian kid says.. well maybe not..

Each contestant this year was nothing but a karoke singer or someone you would see at a high school talent show anywhere! I had to top watching - the listening was insufferable!

Are you all just crazy? She is beautiful! I am so amazed at the way that people are acting about this entire situation. They are young and if they want to have a little idol romance chances are it would not last but they are still kids and kids have crushes and move on. For grown adults to be calling these kids names is just beyond me. There sure are a lot of haters in this world!!!!

Well, it's all over and the winner was selected. I like both Scotty and Lauren; they both seem like well-brought up young people.
My choice would have been Paul--he has the looks, the charm, and that great smile--not excluding his voice. But all is as it is, and, of course, the winner takes it all.

I just wanted to say that both Scotty and Lauren are very attractive and we should not judge people by their size. I hear everyone saying not to judge her because this person said she was chubby and that was uncalled for of course, but we should also not judge the size 0 people either. They have feelings also. Think about it! Everyone has different taste in what looks good and what doesn't and everyone is made differently and special and beautiful in their own way.
