Mariah Carey Cleared By Child Protective Services

The L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services has determined
Mariah Carey's twins are in a healthy and safe environment,
TMZ.com reports.
The DCFS launched an investigation after receiving an anonymous tip that the singer
drank a beer while breastfeeding in the hospital shortly
after giving birth last month. Sources tell TMZ that the DCFS determined there is no merit to the investigation.
Carey told social workers that she did drink a Guiness-but only after a hospital staffer told her that drinking a dark beer would help her with lactating. She never hid the fact she consumed the beer and it was determined she did nothing wrong.
Carey's husband,
Nick Cannon, talked about the whole ordeal to Piers Morgan on CNN last week. "Child Protective Services actually came to me," Cannon said, "And said that they were here to see me because there had been allegations that there was drug and alcohol use during the stay in the hospital."
"It all started when a nurse suggested to my wife that if you drink Guinness, the dark beer, the yeast improves breastfeeding," Cannon added. "I don't know if someone heard that [and] were saying my wife was drinking beer. People will do anything to try to conjure up a story."

What a waste of resources! They're wasting time on this nonsense instead of helping abused children who are in desperate need. The department of DCFS is strained to the limit and short-staffed and this is what they are wasting their time on....unbelievable.

Well I wonder how much the nurse is getting to agree to corroborate Mariah's story for her. Someone better clue the husband in because they still don't have their stories correct. So which is it? "Carey told social workers that she did drink a Guiness-but only after a hospital staffer told her that drinking a dark beer would help her with lactating." - - or this one?, "It all started when a nurse suggested to my wife that if you drink Guinness, the dark beer, the yeast improves breastfeeding," Cannon added. "I don't know if someone heard that [and] were saying my wife was drinking beer. People will do anything to try to conjure up a story."
It can't be a conjured up story if Mariah admitted to drinking the beer already

This is no news to any mother trying to breastfeed. In the beginning A beer will help...its not like drinking a six pack and having some wings. They should focus elsewhere, like Charlie Sheen's kids
What are you talking about? It's the same thing but said in two different ways or isn't a nurse a hospital staffer and isn't Guiness a dark beer?
Who cares...I doubt being a public figure she would do anything to harm her kids. Why can't people just let people live their lives...both versions are the same just worded different. Live and let live.
WHAT? Your kidding! I guess Money does talk!

good thing they didn't check her "special vitamins"!
I was told about the benefits of drinking beer if you were brastfeeding. As a Mormon I could not. I do not think that one beer makes you a lush. Leave the woman alone and let her enjoy the wonder of motherhood.

I would think child services should be called when newborns are given chemicals to drink in the hospital ....ooh we call that formula. Leave Mariah alone. As a postpartum doula , I have read many times dark beer aids in milk production . Good for Mariah for giving her children the gift of breastmilk.

Thank you! Well said and totally right!
Very true!
My baby's pediatrician told me to drink beer to help produce more milk. I drank a beer every day. I had LOTS of breast milk. He also told me to take Brewer's Yeast daily.
Nothing like gossip...

What a waste of resources. And people arent reading right: Mariah drank the beer at the nurses suggestion. Nick is merely stating that someone either over heard that Mariah had the beer and decided to report it, or they did if for spite and financial gain, knowing that nothing was inappropriate.

I would have told her to F off!!! A kid was probably being brutilized by a drug addicted parent while they were worried about mariah and nicks kids. i would NOT have answered any of their questions.

do you plan on stopping soon?
There are many ridiculous reports to family service agencies. Many are reported by abusers, ironically.
