Country Strong: Debut Singles From 'Idol' Teens (Listen to Both)

Scotty bested Lauren, but really there were no losers in last night's 'American Idol' finale, unless of course you can't stand the Nashville sound. If that's the case, then you just may lose your mind listening to the first two singles from these clearly gifted C&Wers. Debuting exclusively on AOL Music, Scotty McCreery -- all of 17 -- tells someone with nice eyes 'I Love You This Big' while Lauren Alaina, 16, does 'Like My Mother Does.' Both ballads, both heavy on sentimental topics like young love and mamas and sech. Listen to both songs below and let us know what you think.

FUN FACT: Both songs feature big honkin' vocal key changes at the same exact moment (3:02)!

Listening to them recorded is better than live. Good going. With them being so young, the Nashville scene is much less likely to screw them up than the pop world. I wish them all the best.

Both songs sounded good! Scotty's deep voice just sounds as strong on a studio record as he was live on TV the past few months. I hope he has a good 10 or 12-song album with songs like that. I liked Lauren's song. Also, I am surprised that they sound as good on 4 minute songs versus the tightly controlled 1 1/2 minute performances they did on TV.

After listening to both song's, Scotty and Lauren did a GREAT JOB! Scotty and Lauren have a hit on their hands. Both song's are tailored made for Scotty and Lauren.
