Jay-Z Films Beyonce Backstage at 'Idol,' Wowed by Her 'Greatness'

Jay-Z may have a plethora of fans across the globe but he himself is a fan of one special lady: his wife, Beyonce.

Earlier this week the Brooklyn rap star joined the former Destiny's Child frontwoman at the 'American Idol' Season 10 finale, where she debuted '1+1,' a ballad off her forthcoming solo album, '4.' Before B hit the stage to perform for viewers at home and those in the audience, she flexed her vocal chops in her dressing room, all while her husband caught everything on camera.

Hov filmed Beyonce as she ran through the lyrics of her new song, accompanied by a woman playing a keyboard to back her up. In the room were her mother, Tina Knowles and her nephew, Daniel Julez, seated on a black leather sofa. Jay-Z placed the visuals he captured on his new Life + Times website, where he wrote a touching sentiment about his lady love.

"Sometimes you need perspective. You've been right in front of greatness so often that you need to step back and see it again for the first time. This is the dressing room rehearsal for American Idol. NO MICROPHONE. No effects [sic]," he wrote.

Without fancy equipment to enhance her voice, the video proves Beyonce's talents are surely innate.

He is ugly though....And let's face it, if he wasn't who he was in relation to money & power she probably wouldn't have given him the time of day. But yeah, I'm glad they are a successful ebony couple.

I agree. With the divorce rate so high, you can see that love & respect was not a very high priority. Looks fade. A good heart goes on forever.

Bobby & Whitney had drug related problems. Don't even belong in the same categary as Jay-Z & Beyonce.

Her new song really sucks! I mean really! Like Gaga, she is very talented! There were several young ladies who would love to have her appeal. But the song was not appropiate, and the quality truely lacked.

Who made you a music critic. Those of us with soul understand and feel soul when it sounds good. Like Beyonce's love song. Just because she sings pop doesn't mean that her roots are lacking. She does it all better than most.

Bouncey, er Beyonce got a weird body. It's like Rihanna's. Big thick legs, big butt; both have ok faces. I guess they're among the best in black women these days which ain't sayin' much. Neither one sings very well and they look like mini-hippos when they try to dance. Jay-Z looks like he's picking his nose when he holds a microphone. He wants to be thug but he's whiter than Beyonce, whose new song, by the way, pretty much sucks the big one.

If you listen to the word of the song..You'll love it..it's a testament to a womans strenght..The quality is so bad that it over shadows the message of the song..That's her and Jay-z fault. I'm scared for her career and marriage. Her career is to high power for Jay-z novice management skills, and I hope that he doesn't exploit her because of the lack of management skills. The album publicity is even different..almost non exsistant. I enjoy both of their talent. I don't think that you can do everything. WHERE IS HER FATHER? She Needs him.

I'm sorry but Beyonce is one of the most overrated musicians right now. I think she is a great performer, and I'm even a fan of Destiny's Child and some of her solo music.

However..Beyonce has only had 3 solo albums so far, and folks like Billboard are already giving this girl lifetime achievement type awards and tributes. The funny thing is that same night they had Mary J. Blige at the awards, who if anybody should have gotten the recognition. She hasn't even been a solo artist for a decade yet..her first solo album came out in '03. My guess is the industry gives her this type of recognition, because they give her all the credit for all Destiny's Child success as well, who came out in '98. That's the only reason I can think of. I won't even get started on Jay-Z, and again, I like some of his music as well.
