Miley Cyrus Tweets Rant Against Urban Outfitters

There's no doubt that Miley Cyrus is a slave to fashion but who's one retailer that she has no tolerance for? Hipster Mecca, Urban Outfitters. After word that the chain stole a jewelry design from a lesser-known artist, Cyrus took to Twitter to let the skinny jean paradise hear her roar (via Celebuzz).

"Love that everybody is hating on Urban Outfitters," Cyrus tweeted. "Not only do they steal from artists but every time you give them money, you help finance a campaign against gay equality," she continued to tweet with the hashtag 'SHADYASHELL.'

In her Twitter rant, Cyrus sites the recent claim that Urban Outfitters jacked the design behind necklaces shaped like varying states from independent artist, Stevie Koerner, who sells her designs on Etsy.com.

"I'm very disappointed in Urban Outfitters," Koerner wrote on her blog. "I know they have stolen designs from plenty of other artists. I understand that they are a business, but it's not cool to completely rip off an independent designer's work."

But Urban Outfitters' not so flattering penchant for copying isn't the only reason they've got Cyrus up in arms. The company's CEO, Richard Hayne, has donated thousands of dollars to Pennsylvania Senator, Rick Santorum's campaign funds -- the same politician who has openly spoken against gay equality.

"'IF WE ALLOW GAY MARRIAGE NEXT THING U KNOW PEOPLE WILL BE MARRYING GOLD FISH' - Rick Santorum UO contributed $13,000 to this mans campaign," Cyrus continued to tweet.

Could Cyrus actually have an impact on the brand's revenue? Urban Outfitters' PR team better get a move on it before they find out.

If the necklace charms were in the shape of the states, then it wasn't really an original design, was it?
That being said--I won't shop there because of them bashing gays or any other group that is different from them. There's room for us all on this planet!

I can't stand her anymore. She doesn't even know who she really is and is tryng to be everything 'Hollywood' that she can possibly be. She used to be such a breath of fresh air, now she's just one of the brat hollywood bubble heads that really doesn't have an opinion on anything except what others that she thinks she wants to be like, think. She's turned into a sad case. Make Brit almost look good.

Miley Smiley like so many other hollywood socialites are so out of touch with the real world. She seems to think that America's way of thinking revolves around Hollywood. She obviously hasn't been outside of the Hollywood scene to see that the majority of Americans oppose same sex marriage because of the dangers it poses to the family and traditional family values which is based on the bible. America was founded on christian fundamental beliefs which most Americans treasure. It is not the majority who needs to get a grip on realaity but it is the few in Hollywood and those who idolize them.

And yet another celebrity twit is abusing their status by trying to politically influence the public. I wonder just how factual her rant is. Did she really do her homework before she spouted her mouth off? Even so, celebrities have no right using the microphone we gave them because of their TALENT to publicize their political views, especially when so many of them barely have even a GED and some of them don't even have that! She's barely old enough to vote! How informed is she, really? ZIP IT, Miley. Grown-ups aren't interested in your twits, er, I mean tweets. Shouldn't you be out there somewhere twick-or-tweeting?

If Miley really cared she would stop tweeting and just help out the independent artists with a legal fund for lawsuits. I think she would then be more helpful and she would get her money back also. She wouldn't have to ask/request a percentage since she already has too much money. Hey, why doesn't the Walmart heirs do the same thing by ending all future earnings to themselves. Oh my, what have I done, to suggest that REALLY RICH people to stop their greed for more money. That's like having the REPUBLICANS agree to pay higher taxes...LOLOLOL!

Show me the state which taxes homosexuals for being gay! There's a state with its head on straight. Not that it would make much money since real homosexuality is not very prevalent. but gosh, that's as good a way of stealing money from citizens as any! Tax gays to pay for their gay pride parades!

When you deny a citizen of equal rights you are basically saying they aren't a citizen. I dont know how the GOP is still alive they're a bunch of lunatics who are only out for money for themselves and their big corporate buddies.
