Brad Pitt Opens Up About Parenthood, Marriage

With a daughter turning 5 this weekend (Happy birthday, Shiloh!) and just a few weeks until Father's Day, busy dad Brad Pitt is opening up in a new interview about family life with Angelina Jolie.

"The kids ask about marriage," he tells USA Today over a cup of cappuccino. "It's meaning more and more to them. So it's something we've got to look at."

The 'Tree of Life' star, 47, admits that fears about his six kids' safety "keep me up at night." Reflecting on what parenthood means to him, he explains, "Kids hold up a mirror to you....You can't make excuses. You've got to make sure they've brushed their teeth and eaten a good breakfast. You want to be present if they wake up with a bad dream."

A round-the-clock nightmare for the Pitt-Jolie brood? Paparazzi. "We're hunted," he says, "Our kids have to live behind a gate. Outside, there are people with cameras."

"But I'll take the trade-off," he adds. "I never knew I was capable of experiencing so much love."

Sharing a glimpse at how his large family manages a globe-trotting lifestyle, jetting between movie sets and premieres, the actor says the older ones are home-schooled, and he describes the Jolie-Pitt travel style:

"On the road, we're a military mobile unit.... The kids have got their stuff down to one backpack, and they're each responsible for their own bag. Mom does the packing. She's quite gifted at that; puts in just what we need, nothing extra."

"Angie and I do everything we can to carve out some semblance of normalcy for them, to re-create the kinds of moments that were special for us," he adds. "It's not unusual for the kids to be covered in paint. We have mud fights. It's chaos from morning until the lights go out, and sometimes after that."

And normalcy at home includes keeping love alive between Mom and Dad.

"There are no secrets at our house," Pitt says with a smile. "We tell the kids, 'Mom and Dad are going off to kiss.' They go, 'Eww, gross!' But we demand it."

How do you know that they had to hurt someone? There are two sides to every story. I perceive Jennifer Anniston as a woman who just can't imagine herself getting out of shape by being pregnant. She's too obsessed with her looks. Angie doesn't seem to have an ego problem. I'll bet that while Jennifer and Brad were married, she just couldn't be bothered with being tied down with a family, etc. Think about it.

I agree. Angelina is a skank to cheat. Brad needs to take his biological children and get out of the relationship. Angelina is damaged goods.

If they are so in love why are they not looking at each other in any of the recent pictures you see. Only in the beginning did they look at each other and that was when they were cheating. Also I belive that Brad still calls Jennifer and it that is so why would he if he was so in love with the home wrecker.

Apparently, Brad didn't mindbeing unhappy,until the skank,Angelina came along.THe fact that this couplefeels the medianeeds to make their relationship something unique, tells me its not. Being happy, does not require a newsrag to report your happiness. Other Hollywooders are married and have children and feel secure enough not to make it a daily news story.
If you have to keep reminding people you exist, there is trouble
on the horizon. This couple is not unique, nor is having out of wedlock babies with an unstable mate.

They seem happy enought to me. As for Jennifer Anniston, I wonder. How many men has she been through since she and Brad Pitt divorced? Why can't she seem to settle down and find happiness with someone? Say what you will about Angelina Jolie, but the woman is a mother, partner, philanthropist, and humanitarian. I see none of this from Jennifer Anniston, whose only purpose in life seems to be yoga and pilates. Sorry, but when I look at the women side by side, Ms. Jolie has more depth than Ms. Anniston...

so didn't Paul Newman & Joanne Woodward as he divorced his first wife with whom he had 3 children under the age of 8 to marry her and nearly had 4 kids with her though sadly she miscarried their first. Angie and Brad aren't actually marrried and won't be anytime soon. calling Jennifer Aniston a skank is wrong her and Brad tried to have children and couldn't and obviously the miscarriage put a strain on their marriage and they never received counseling for it so they eventually broke up like most couples that go through that usually do though some don't like Newman & Woodward or Prince Renier & Princess Grsce in between the births of Prince Albert in 1958 & Princess Stephanie in 1965

I love the way this guy is constantly lying about his life and his family. He tries to make us believe that it's such a normal happy family when really its just so dysfunctional. Brad, who are you kidding. We don't believe a word you say. Rather than tell your lies, just don't say anything at all. The public is not as stupid as you seem to think we are. You made your mess, now sit in it. lol

How sad and delusional...how is it you are privy to the fact that someone is lying...and the little "lol" at the end of the rant just adds to the creepiness factor. Seek help
