'Hangover 2' Launches Summer Movie Season With Record-Setting Box Office

Zach Galifianakis, Bradley Cooper and Ed Helms make more than just trouble -- they make money. Raking in record numbers at the box office, 'The Hangover: Part II' is launching the summer movie season with a 4-day Memorial Day weekend take (Friday-Monday) of approximately $105 million, as estimated today by Deadline.

The dudes-in-distress sequel scored the largest opening ever for an R-rated comedy, and it dominates first place over other two sequels also raking in big bucks right now. In second place: Jack Black and Angelina Jolie's 'Kung Fu Panda 2,' predicted to make $62 million for the four-day holiday period in its premiere weekend in theaters.

Johnny Depp's 'Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides,' which opened a week ago, is estimated to make another $53 million this Memorial Day weekend, followed by Kristen Wiig's 'Bridesmaids,' expected to earn another $21.5 million.

The Wolf Pack, and 'Hangover 2' director Todd Phillips, must be cheering the news, and now, the wildly profitable opening has fans wondering if a 'Hangover 3' is in store. The guys have already made a mess of their lives in Vegas and Bangkok. What's next?

Justin Bartha votes for an Amsterdam sequel, as reported by Moviefone, while Ken Jeong says he's on board for wherever the team needs him. "I would absolutely do a third one," he said at the Billboard Music Awards, which he hosted earlier this month. "All of my fame and success in the last few years is directly due to 'The Hangover.' Those guys are like family to me, so it doesn't matter, big part or small part... Well, I guess I know a thing or two about small parts."

Of course, what would a 'Hangover' discussion be without some nude-dude jokes?

I saw Hangover II and I didnt like it. It wasnt as funny as the first one. I didnt like it when the men were playing the penis. Nope wouldnt see that again.

It is a sad day, to say the least, when a movie with such title makes a ton of money. I am sure the majority of people that go to the movies and have that disposal money to spend , are teen agers who make a bunch of money either through baby sitting or through their large weekly allowances from their parents.

People forget! These type of situations actually happen in life to some men! The moral of the story is that all men can think of sometime in their lives in which the forget what really happen! great movie!

I got texted from 2 folks who were watching at the time. it was simple. Not worth the price of a movie ticket. And they went during the before 5 pm movie matinee discount.

They have been in talks to do hangover 3 and hangover 4. It's really location that is on the table. Places they have been talking about for hangover 3 and 4 has been Jamaica,australla,cuba,south africa,russia. Right now they have hired a few people to check out the locations and to see who will have the film contract. Charlie sheen, chris tucker, tommy lee, and many more has been talked about being added to the movie. stay tuned for the press release this fall or late winter.

I guess the people who say this movie wasn't funny probably had a boring life and are being haters. I am 40 and can relate to the hangover concept and sillyness that can happen when messed up. I thought this movie was absolutley hillarious and can't wait to see it again ! I laugh just thinking about it.

It started off super slow and like others have noted was not that funny as the first. Bad acting first hour. Male nudity (YUKE)! If I wanted to pay to see penises I would like them to be at least average.

Totally sucked..all show and no blow..It tried to ride on the coattails of the original..but ..no..not this time..very raunchy and NOT FUNNY..they better give on on the idea of a third one..it will be a bomb..just because of this one..
