Jessica, Ashlee Simpson Start Tween Clothing Line

The Simpson sisters are embarking on a new project together: a fashion line. Jessica Simpson is teaming up with little sis Ashlee to create a new clothing line aimed at tweens.

According to WWD (via PEOPLE), the new line will be part of the Jessica Simpson Collection and will feature sportswear and activewear with a "girly, playful attitude," something that will fit in perfectly with the tween set.

Both Jessica and Ashlee will serve as co-directors of the line.

"Creating a tween apparel collection was a natural extension for the brand," Jessica told WWD. "I'm excited to bring my sister, Ashlee, along as co-creative director of this division, because she brings a savvy rocker edge that defines today's tweens."

Ashlee is equally excited to join her sister in the new venture.

"My goal as co-creative director will be to design clothes that will help inspire young girls to express their personalities and creativity through fashion," Ashlee said.

The Simpsons' tween clothing line will be available starting this fall.

C'mon Jessica...you never look good in anything you wear and you have designers who create your own line(s). Your real talent lies in convincing a certain percentage of women that you have a fashion sense that deserves to be followed. And it's no secret that people will buy anything with a 'celebrity' name on it.

Your way to describe 11 and 12 year olds is that they "have a savvy rocker edge." Good Gawd. I'm sure their parents will be thrilled to read that and will be real eager to buy your clothes for their little rockers.

Unfortunately, these two have about as much style sense as the Olson twins. All four should take the money they luckily earned and invest in some educations.The clock had gone by 15 minutes for all four of them.

The funny thing is, the Olsen twins' clothing line is very sophisticated and well-made. Most of the clothing is actually manufactured here in the United States. The Olsens may look a bit strange and I know Mary-Kate has had problems with anorexia, but they really are very intelligent and have gotten a good deal of respect for their clothing from a fashion industry that was really skeptical at first.
It is important to give credit where it is due.
