'View' Source: Barbara Walters Would Take Meredith Vieira Back
Come next Wednesday, the great Meredith Vieira will be saying goodbye to NBC's 'Today' show, but if Barbara Walters has her way we might be seeing Meredith back on TV very soon.
"Barbara adores Meredith and would welcome her back on 'The View' in a second," a 'View' insider tells me. "Meredith returning home would be a great ratings boost and Barbara likes nothing better than ratings success even if it means asking one of the regular women to have a less active role."
Meredith was the talker's original moderator from its debut in 1997 until mid-2006 when it was announced she'd be taking over for Katie Couric at 'Today.'
Tired of getting up at 2:30 in the morning and wanting to spend more time with her journalist husband Richard Cohen, who has multiple sclerosis but is in good health, was the main reason Meredith decided it was time to leave. However, returning to a show like 'The View' which broadcasts live only four days a week (they record Friday's show on Thursday) would be a much easier schedule.
"Don't forget when the show started Joy Behar was part time. She wasn't on every day," a senior producer who has worked on 'The View' tells me. "Having Meredith back if only for a few days a week would make Barbara very, very happy. She never wanted her to leave in the first place."
Although for once it doesn't look like Bab's dream will come true. Meredith told me recently that she's dedicated to her NBC family ... a family she hopes to continue working with in a different position for many years to come!

I would love to see Meredith return and replace Barbara or Whoopie. I think Barbara is losing it...she now rambles on and yells over everyone else just like the crew... She needs to be
reminded of words by Joy. She maybe have been brillant in her
time..but time for her to retire. Ditto for Whoopie with the hair in her face distracting everyone. Is it because she has a
voice many times lower in octave they the others shut up when
she talks? Please, please Meredith...reconsider...we miss you
Whoopie's cool. Who is the one with all of the wigs? What's up with that? Jeez, is her hair THAT bad? Enough already with the wedding, too.

This show is a disgrace and should be taken off the air. All of the hosts talk at the same time and interrupt each other. As far as Elizabeth goes, I don't know why she would want to be on this show. The show is a liberal political mouthpiece and the hosts are totally rude.
Well, she isn't ignorant but she sure as heck rambles alot. She is very annoying and I agree.

I am in TOTAL agreement. I won't watch the show JUST becaust of Elizabeth. I cannot stand her whining, better than thou attitude.

So, you mean get rid of one of the "Black" girls. Let's see without Whoopie they would have never received an Emmy. She is the most famous and is one of a few people who has won an Oscar, Grammy, Tony and an Emmy. Give it a rest!!!

Please take her back and fire Whoopie. She thinks she is the only one that should ever talk. The show is so much more enjoyable when she is off. The other hosts are visibly more relaxed when Whoopie is not on and they don't all fight over who gets to talk when she is off either.

No No NO not a male on the View. Look at the graphics when the show starts. That capital letter V looks like a vagina (not that there is anything wrong with that). I believe this is intentional. And hey, Whoopie is cool!! And while I seldom agree with Elizabeth, you have to hand it to her, she is persistent and has conviction. Also has a sense of humor as all these gals do!! I love the View. You go ladies!!
Fire that big mouth Joy and bring back Meredith !
