Two words, Bobby Brown. Her downhill slide started when she married him, she became very arrogant and unfortunately is now catching up with her. My heart goes out to her daughter.
Joan- I don't know if you ever watched that short-lived reality show they had, but she was more of a dirtbag than Bobby Brown. You don't acquire that kind of personality from marrying someone. She was obnoxious and frankly, stupid. I think she was that way long before she married him...
I have to agree with Mick,Bobby may have contributed to her downfall, but she is the reason all that she had is lost. No one can make you do drugs unless you want to. She sat on Oprah's show and talked about Bobby being abusive, etc. She could have left him at any time, she had money and family. She obviously wanted to stay.
"No pity?"
What a pity.
Such a lovely world-view you appear to have chosen.
I much prefer the few posts that exhibit kindness and well-wishes for a troubled family.
Mick:
I totally agree with you. Houston was a wh*re and junkie long before she met Brown. He finally wised up and left. He's not much better but he's gotten his life together more than the ex has. The kid is a junkie and alcoholic as well; she should have been taken away from Houston years ago.
great. so all that ticket money went to subsidize her cigarette? o well, it's her body.

What's the big deal? Everyone who smokes will eventually develope emphysema.....puff on an inhaler and she'll be fine. Now, where did I put mine? :-)

my grandmother died from emphysema and it isnt anything like asthma u need more than an inhaler. your lungs shut down and u r grasping for air and they can put a fan down your throat but when your lungs shut down that is it. i quit smoking not because my grandmother died that horrible death. i quit smoking a year after she died because i couldnt stop coughing and my three year old son then was worried. he couldnt really express himself but his facial expression made me quit cold turkey. if her condition is really bad she can stop smoking today and die of emphysema five years later thats what happened to my grandmother. once u have emphysema u have that forever it doesnt go away that is why they said it was deadly because she also has lung infections along with the disease. People think emphysema goes away it doesnt. i have a friend that has a touch of emphysema and she still smokes.
You do not have to smoke to get emphysema... Live in a city with public transportation, cars, trucks, buses, subways, etc, etc, etc.
Dana, we see what you would do to hang with Bob Bobby Brown and his broken queen. "what did u do wit yours" now, that the shame contributed.
Obviously YOU KNOW NOTHING.... you can get emphysema from car and truck exhust.... especially DIESEL FUMES !!!
There are many, many people that have emphysema and have NEVER SMOKED ANYTHING .... EVER !!!
Not everyone who smokes develops emphysema. Do some research before you sound off.
I developed an emphysema from sitting in the bathroom too long doing a deposits.
It's really too bad. She had such a sweet melodius voice. She should've known though she couldn't pull one over on her audience. It's a travesty but she only has herself to blame. It may be a talented loss to the World, but it's all the more a shame it's a total loss to her. Emphysema doesn't kill all by itself but if she continues to smoke she will make it worse and will soon be in a wheelchair with an oxygen tank attached. That's her choice - no one else's.

bad decisions = bad results. Can't feel too sorry for people who continue to be stupid time and time again. Her and her ex husband have been terrible role models for their children.

She smoked cigarettes but was also a heavy crack smoker. I smoked cigarettesfor many years. Last September I had a heart attack and at the same time was diagnosed with the early stages of emphysema. I suggest to Whitney that she quits immediately. Show her daughter that she is also a strong woman..
I quit immediately because life is more important than the garbage i was putting in my body.,

Bless you, but this woman isn't going to meet a happy end. The seeds were planted before Bobby Brown entered her life.
Oh please. Its a National Enquirer story so the chances of it being true are .01%
