Cameron Diaz and Alex Rodriguez Split

Alex Rodriguez has one less player on his team, now ex-girlfriend, Cameron Diaz. According to Perez Hilton's FitPerez, the Yankees golden boy and Hollywood's golden girl have split after almost a year of dating.

"They've broken up," an insider told FitPerez. "[Cameron is] hurt and betrayed, because she tried so hard to please him ... She went overboard."

But from feeding him popcorn at the Super Bowl to romantic vacations in Mexico, it didn't look like Rodriguez minded Diaz's affectionate attention.

Although, according to the New York Post, Rodriguez isn't wallowing in any post-breakup blues. He's reportedly magnifying his star player status. At the Marriott Marquis Miami opening Thursday night, more than a few ladies slipped the baseball prodigy their digits.

But we're not worried about either superstar's future in the dating pool -- they each boast an impressive resume of past conquests. Rodriguez has been formerly linked to Madonna and Kate Hudson and Diaz was the longtime love of Justin Timberlake.

Oh, what a surprise (not). I do not think Cameron Diaz will ever marry, just fool around and the same goes for Rodriguez. I think that they both do these things for headline purposes and nothing more. Sad...

I don't know, being that Cameron Diaz was quoted as saying "I don't think we should live our lives in relationships based off old traditions that don't suit our world any longer." Maybe ol' A-Rod didn't agree with that so much and gave her the boot before he invested anymore of his time into the relationship.

You three morons can say what you choose, but the bottom line is that Cameron Diaz is an overrated actress who's less attractive than half the dingbats on my street while Rodriguez is one of the greatest baseball players of all time. Take your collective indignations and get lost (be quick about it) as she was in WAY over her head with him and he showed her as much in the end.

Patty, I have twins and never married. I have men in my life. I am financially stable. I like it that way and would never let myself feel pity from anyone. Pity and guilt are man-made emotions. That I chose not to marry is not because there wasn't proposals, just I felt not the right fit. I am happy with my life choices.

Elaine, I agree, Brava Anni! Good for Anni for not saying yes to a relationship that wasn't right because if it resulted in unhappiness and instability for her children then she, indeed, made the right choices for herself and for her children. There are already too many children being raised in dysfunctional families.

As for you, Anni, you sound very happy that you chose to have your children and not make a choice others might have made in that regard. I'm happy for you. It's too bad others feel they have to judge you for that decision. However, I suspect if you had made a different decision than the one you did, those same people judging you now for having your twins and not being married, would be judging you just has harshly. No situation there because those with a judgemental disposition won't be denied their right to offer their (stupid) opinions.

On a side note: How stupid to think a woman needs to be married and/or have children in order to count in this life. I thought the world had evolved.

I think she just said that to spare herself. I would say most (not all) women want to get married. I think some of the women replying here are man haters- sorry to offend you all. Marrige and relationships aren't easy and perfect in general, but it's about being mature enough to grow and learn together from each other, not just running off when things aren't perfect 24/7.

I think these womaen think thier gonna land him & get married, alex has kids, & just got divorced not that long ago. so date & move on is all your gonna get for awhile from him. he did it with kate hudson as well. now shes oreggers. she musta wanted to settle down & have kids he still wants to stay single & live it up for awhile longer. same with cameron diaz, she aint getting any prettier , shes starting to show her age, he's super rich & can date 20 something woman. wouldn't you do the same to if you weere single & making 32 million a yr.
