Report: Scarlett Johansson and Sean Penn Have Split

It has been reported that Scarlett Johansson and Sean Penn have split.

PEOPLE is quoting a source who is saying that the Johansson and Penn are no longer dating.

The reason for the split is not known and the reps of the stars declined to comment when asked about the breakup.

There has been some speculation about the couple's relationship status when Johansson did not attend the Cannes Film Festival with Penn, whose movie 'The Tree of Life' premiered at the festival and won the prestigious Palme d'Or award.

The actress was said to be in New Mexico working on the upcoming comic adaptation movie, 'The Avengers.'

Johansson, 26, and Penn, 50, first made headlines when they went on a short-but-romantic vacation getaway to Mexico in March and they officially came out as a couple when they attended Reese Witherspoon's wedding to Jim Toth later that month.

Things seem to be going well for the couple and they even caused quiet a stir with their public display of affection at the annual White House Correspondents Dinner in May.

It was hardly a relationship...less than three months. I've had one-night stands that lasted longer. Love Sean but agree with other posters: pull yourself together and change whatever brand of mousse you're using on the spikes, man.

Why is this news? All of these "stars" break-up their marriages, move on to another and lo and behold, it lasts 5 minutes and they are once again off and running to the next one. Relationships are no longer sacred and this seems to be a way of life for all of them.
