Last week, tabloids floated the rumor that Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale's 2½-year-old son, Zuma (big brother is 5-year-old Kingston), was rushed to a hospital with a broken arm.Now Rossdale has confirmed that a sudden, accidental fall off a kitchen counter in the family's Beverly Hills home injured the toddler. The doting dad told People.com, "It was one of the worst nights of our lives."
Rossdale did not confirm insider reports that Zuma's treatment included insertion of a pin into the child's wrist.
Stefani's husband said, "It was one of those freak events. He fell. A freak accident." And how is Zuma? "He's fine now...The kids are never alone, and you turn your back, and it takes a split second."
Calling the event "horrific," the 45-year-old explained, "It's almost worse for us [parents]."

Two year olds are made of rubber. Breaking a bone is hard to do.
A wrist, not so much. Bad headline.
What's a zuma?

Wasn`t that one of those yuppie malt drinks ?
WHAT was the kid doing on the counter? If we sit our kids on those things don't we hold them with at least one hand? It's fortunate that the injury wasn't worse.

ohh please no one is to blame... kids will get hurt not matter how many people are watching them.... you must not have children... if you did you would know that they love sitting on counters or any other place where they can see....he is a boy it won't be his last accident... and besides even in kindergarden the girls live scar :-)

that's totally true. the worst part is how they never learn, they'll climb right back up that counter.
True! Scary as it may be, when kids are accidentally hurt, even in the presence of parents, etc., they'll often repeat risky actions later on in life,.... probably throughout their lives. (Note to my contemporaries: I'm 67 yrs old and I have to admit I'm STILL a "clod". (I'd also be likely to "climb right back up on that counter". I can't believe I'm unique. Anyone?)
Finish the sentence...(girls live scar)..
I don't get it.
Accidents happen....Parents are people and people aren't perfect.

The kid needs a haircut. Why do parents think it is SO cute to let boys hair grow so long? Like that kid of Kate Hudson's....yikes...ugly kid
Cut the kids hair...I mean, it isn't even TRIMMED nice. IT's just all skaragglie and ratty looking. No offense meant, it's just the unvarnished truth.

It takes a truly ugly person to call someones child ugly. Does it make you feel better about yourself to insult toddlers? No offense meant. It's just the unvarnished truth.
Sorry, she is correct Lisa. Kate Hudsons kid looked like an ill-fed, homeless child. Sarah Jessica Parker's son ran around for years looking emaciated and uncared for with straggely hair. Take care of your kid. If he has long hair make sure he brushes it and washes it daily. Get him to pull it back. Wash his tennis shoes! Good God!
Sorry anni but she is not right. There is a huge difference between saying a child is unkempt and outright calling them ugly. Anyone who does that is the ugly one. I stand by my statement.
They really wanted a little girl.
There is no reason for a child to EVER be on a kitchen counter. They can grab dangerous objects, can fall and basically it is unsanitary. I have known people who let their kids crawl on the counters like apes. Sorry. I had too much respect for my children to let them act like animals.

It's too bad all parents can't be as perfect as you. And just in case you missed it, that last sentence was FULL of sarcasm.
It was pretty lame to use Pattty's words against her Lisa. Whether out loud, behind his/her back, or in your mind, you know you've criticized or had that "yikes" moment. Even if it was subconsciously.

Kingston and Zuma? Did she visit Jamaica or Canada one time and fall in love with those Kingstons? Or was she a fan of the videogame Zuma which consists of little balls? Gwen, I don't know what you were on when you named your two beautiful sons, but like your song "What ya waitin, what ya waitin, what ya waitin for?" Run down to the birth registration office and tell them that you are sorry for naming your kids that and that you'd want to change them, but then again you might decide on Fort Lauderale and Pinocchle.... Girl you lost it.

"A freak accident"?? How'd he get up there and where was an adult to watch him??? Not a freak accident..more like neglect. She's lucky he didn't hit his head or break his neck. Child services should investigate IMO.
