Report: Nikki Reed Engaged to 'Idol' Star Paul McDonald

Talk about a whirlwind romance! 'Twilight' star Nikki Reed and 'American Idol' contestant Paul McDonald are engaged after just a few short months of dating.

According to E! Online, Reed wasn't shy about sharing her true feelings about the singer, who made it to the Top 8 on 'Idol,' while at the MTV Movie Awards.

"He's the one," she gushed, showing off a new sparkler on her ring finger.

A source close to the couple confirmed that they are in fact engaged to be married.

Reed and McDonald first met in March when they both attended the L.A. premiere of 'Red Riding Hood.' McDonald attended with the rest of the Top 13 contestants of 'American Idol.'

The 'Twilight' star reportedly complimented McDonald on his singing, saying, "You're amazing. I'm blushing, I should go."

McDonald then asked the 'Idol' camera crew, "Was she a famous actress or something? I'd hang out with her!"

The singer later talked about their first encounter with Us Weekly after confirming their romance.

"It was weird," he said. "I haven't ever actually watched any of her movies. I don't know too much of her career at all, but the person she is is super cool."

For goodness sake leave these two a lone.Can't anyone ever just say Good luck and mean it.Who is anyone able to judge these two and say it is not going to work.I have known some who have dated for years and it didn't and some dated a day and did.So just be happy that they are sharing their news with you and give them your Blessings.It is the second greatest thing to love thy neighbor so remember when you can't just be happy for others you will not ever make be,it is people like this that are so messed up and jealous and really just don't want it to work.What ever happened to the good ole I wish you the very best and leave it at that and hope and pray they do make it.Well I for one wish them every happiness not that they will ever read this this is not the issue but what is that I feel good in side to know that I rather be happy for others to be Blessed rather then to sit in on judgement that it won't work.Good luck Nikki and Paul and may God's Blessings carry you both through this world of struggles but if you always be honest trust and remember to put your marriage above all else,you will make it and you shall bring beautiful children into this world and both your careers will take off like a rocket.Good luck sincerely,

You are so right about whirlwind romances. Congrat's on 16 years. I looked through a crowd of people and laid eyes on my husband of almost 20 years. A voice in my head said you are going to marry that man. Desert Storm got in the way of marrying, but we married after he returned.

Paul is from Huntsville, where I live. I wish them all the best.

Paul seems like a really sweet guy but playing in dives all around the country for nickels isn';t going to keep Nikki Reed in her lifestyle..I hope he makes it in the music business or their relationship is doomed. Hope I'm wrong.
Although some relationships like this do work. Brooke Burke is the breadwinner in her householod.Her Husband David doesn't get much work anymore and yet they appear to be very happy...Juliette Mills and Maxwell Caulfied..another such couple...Ok so maybe I'm wrong...!!
