Report: Nikki Reed Engaged to 'Idol' Star Paul McDonald

Talk about a whirlwind romance! 'Twilight' star Nikki Reed and 'American Idol' contestant Paul McDonald are engaged after just a few short months of dating.

According to E! Online, Reed wasn't shy about sharing her true feelings about the singer, who made it to the Top 8 on 'Idol,' while at the MTV Movie Awards.

"He's the one," she gushed, showing off a new sparkler on her ring finger.

A source close to the couple confirmed that they are in fact engaged to be married.

Reed and McDonald first met in March when they both attended the L.A. premiere of 'Red Riding Hood.' McDonald attended with the rest of the Top 13 contestants of 'American Idol.'

The 'Twilight' star reportedly complimented McDonald on his singing, saying, "You're amazing. I'm blushing, I should go."

McDonald then asked the 'Idol' camera crew, "Was she a famous actress or something? I'd hang out with her!"

The singer later talked about their first encounter with Us Weekly after confirming their romance.

"It was weird," he said. "I haven't ever actually watched any of her movies. I don't know too much of her career at all, but the person she is is super cool."

Smartest thing Paul ever did was get engaged to someone who has a money making gig, as his singing(I mean screaming and jumping around) would never pay his bills. Ever think maybe that is why he was eliminated on American Idol? Hope she is deaf as she will have a lifetime of listening to a bunch of noise pollution from Paul. Maybe she can also teach him how to dress like a MAN.

Happy Hollywood! He looks like Kenny Loggins, she, your typical Hollywood beauty. Life is wonderful and may they ride off in their cinderella carriage and live happily ever after. I am so glad I cancelled cable tv. Life seems so shallow in Hollywood. They are way overpaid as are the sports figures. Maybe they'll make it ten years if they are lucky.

My sister and her husband married after 3 months of dating. They have been married 36 years. A wonderful marriage. It doesn't work for everyone, but I hope it does for them. I hope they have found forever love.
