It's no secret that Lady Gaga has a flair for fashion, but now it's a little more official. The 'Born This Way' singer was named a fashion icon at the Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards Monday night.

Gaga received the Fashion Icon Award for 2011 at the the 10th annual event in New York City, according to E! Online.

"Fashion made me feel like a star before I was," she said as she accepted her award.

Other big winners of the fashion-forward evening include Proenza Schouler for Womenswear Designer of the Year and Michael Bastian for Menswear Designer of the Year.

Marc Jacobs was also honored at the event, receiving the Geoffery Beene Lifetime Achievement Award.
