David Arquette Kicked Out of Prince Show For Taking Pictures

The artist still known as Prince really doesn't like it when people take his picture.

He's a notorious control freak when it comes to his image and his team has instructed ushers at all of his 'Welcome 2 America' tour stops to vigilantly enforce the no-photo rule, even if people try to snap them on their cell phones.

And yet, aware of the irony, midway through his shows, Prince often encourages people to take out their cell phones anyway, wave them in the air in place of old school lighters, and even, yes, take some shots -- perhaps it's his way of admitting that resistance is futile.

And yet, resistance on the other end of it also proved futile for actor David Arquette recently at one of Prince's fabled 21 shows at the Forum in Los Angeles.

According to WENN reports, after arguing with security over shots he took of the Purple One, security kicked out the kid sitting next to him for taking pictures -- right after Prince told everyone to take out their handheld devices. Perhaps trying to be the hero, Arquette was, instead, given the boot.

"Security came to take this kid away and they said, 'You gotta get rid of all those pictures on your phone,'" Arquette relays. "I said, 'Prince just said we could take the pictures.' And so I got kicked out of the Prince show."

Prince's 'Welcome 2 America' tour is proving to be a danger zone for celebrities, and yet, celebrities -- like everyone else -- seem to be magnetically attracted to the shows.

First, Prince kicked socialite Kim Kardashian off stage, back in February, shortly after he invited her up to dance. Then Whitney Houston was banned from going to any more of the L.A. shows after Prince's team became fed up with her ticket requests and alleged party habits (Prince later vouched for her and said she's welcome anytime). With more shows planned, stay tuned for more juicy tidbits to come.

As for Arquette, if it's any consolation, Prince only performed five encores of all his greatest hits.

This so called " Prince" (of what) is totally nuts. He seems to get kick out of bossing people around according to his "whim" of the moment. When small minded person gets the idea he is so so, so big in his bridges , he need to be taken a peg, two and three down. He is not worth the money to spend on such a foolishness.

PRINCE is a THUG or at least employs THUGS...and they really do enforce all these stupid rules. I met Prince at the Waldorf when he was inducted into Rock Hall of fame...I took out a camera--and ASKED "Would you mind if I got a photo with you" and he said "I rather Not". OK. COOL. Then his security pushed me and elbowed me in the neck...(not cool) just for ASKING. This was a 10000 a plate dinner. Nice going Prince. Employ Goons and thugs.

Prince hasn't had any good music since the early 80s. He thinks he's Jimmy Hendrix and a Diva all rolled into one. I wouldn't see his show if you paid me to go, let alone take pictures of him.

For everyone's information, no live venue allows people to take pictures during a show. This is not a Prince thing, this is what is expected when you attend any show with any artist.

Who is David Arquette? I never heard of him , but someone should tell him the 80s are over. I would never want to sit through two hours of the artist formerly known as who gives a crap. I think Prince/whatever is living off his old pathetic songs . Had any hits in the past 20 years?

For what we pay in concert tickets it is wrong for an artist to simply say "you can't take my picture."

I for one will NOT be back to another show or buy another CD/DVD from an artist that bans photo taking.

I'm just glad we can just call him Prince again. The episode when he was insisting on being called an unpronounceable symbol was exausting, confusing & ridiculous,...but some of you have proved that stupidity loves to run rampid. His music & lyrics have always been astonishing. Except for a few episodes in his life when he took some strange & unexplainable turns in directions that some of us had a difficult time understanding, he is still out there making people dance & sing. I hope he doesn't make any more controvercial music videos that imply he is involved in things that he obviously has no clue about. And, we all know that Prince is a musician, not a prophet. That was basically what all his name changing was about. I am sure he came down from that acid trip by now.

The bottom line is that these actors all suck.

I guess if you are Jewish and you put a tattoo of a black person on your arm you are entitled to shoot his photo. Makes good sense to me.

Prince is and always has been my favorite artist. I have all 30 years of his music and it's all great! Prince is all about love.... I am sure there is another side to this story...
