Nicole Kidman Stuns on CMT Awards Red Carpet

Nicole Kidman escorted husband, country crooner Keith Urban, down the red carpet at the 2011 CMT Music Awards on Wednesday night--and they were as cute and lovey dovey as ever. But Kidman's fashion choice left some people scratching their heads.

The 'Just Go With It' actress wore a green and blue striped velour with a see-through, asymmetrical hem. JustJared.com reveals that the dress was designed by Proenza Schouler, a design house known for its risky runway looks. Kidman paired the striking dress with sky blue Pierre Hardy heels.

But the couple wasn't there just to walk the red carpet. Keith was nominated for several awards including Male Video of the Year and CMT Performance of the Year.

Did she just throw any old thing together?? The shoes absolutely DO NOT go with the top of the dress - I say the top, cos that's all there is! Don't know why she would put that on & go "Yep!! That's what I want to wear!! - I know she's a celebrity, but this is just poor fashion judgement. Sorry Nicole - big MISS on this one!!!

If the half slip had been black instead of white, it wouldn't be half bad. The shoes don't make it. I often wonder if the partners of celebrities ever tell them the truth about how they look. My husband would have said something about how bad that outfit is. But then who the heck designs something like that and why would a store stock it?

Got it backwards -- shoes are fabulous on her pretty legs, but that dress needs to be cut off at the hips, hemmed and used as a top. Yikes. And what the heck is she doing wearing velour in June? I'd get it if she were 'down under' where it's cold right now, but not here. Do love the shoes.

I thought everything looked lovely from the waist up. Loved that bold green and blue with her red hair and big blue eyes. Great colors for her and I like her with bangs. But, the skirt and shoes just threw the whole thing off. Nevertheless, it's clear that Nicole does her own thing and I admire her for that. Normally she's stunning and, she's got Keith....so who really cares what she's wearing!

her shoes are gorgeous..her legs are gorgeous. the top of her dress is great...the bottom of the dress is crazy, and ridiculous, and, especially on her...it doesnt fit for her...the thing is screaming for attention...i think it is cool that her husband is fine with it, and so is she...they can both be ok with her wearing it...they dont have much excitement in their lives anymore...maybe with the kids they do, but, really, this is probably it...so who cares..life is short...they are a great couple, and, due to nicole, he is clean and sober...this dress and all is so unimportant in life.....really.., plus keith has won awards, so has she, they have 2 kids now, and he is still clean and sober...perspective people...get back down to earth...

I think it's cute. Of course it isn't something the rest of us would wear, but for the red carpet it's fine. The shoes don't go with the outfit though. I think she likes to bring the attention on the red carpet. She's always wearing something unusual.

Actually, she seems much less botoxy than she has been; she looks pretty good! Thdress is good and the shoe choice, very colorful! The important thing is tho, she looks happy, he looks happy and healthy.. that is what matters, peeps! With the money they make she can wear ANY flippin thing she wants! lol

Nicole is beautiful and i have thought for years she has the wrong stylist or something, her clothes never flatter her and she is so pretty. She either needs to get a new stylist or stop picking the clothes out herself.
