Larry Birkhead: Anna Nicole Smith's Daughter Just Like Her Mommy

Other than her Southern belle good looks, there's at least one more thing the late Anna Nicole Smith passed onto daughter, Dannielynn. Smith's ex-boyfriend and Dannielynn's father says that his 5-year-old daughter's love of the camera undeniably comes from her mother.

"I see her mom in everything she does," Birkhead told Us Weekly. "We were at the Kentucky Derby and she started smiling and posing like her mom would. People ask me to put her in modeling, but I don't want to push."

But not everything about the Derby day was flash photogs and fun. Birkhead later tweeted that he was battling a publication over a libelous story that was to run about the father-daughter duo: "Spent the entire day yelling at an editor & legal dept. of a newspaper over a false story about me and my daughter at the kentucky derby," he tweeted.

Another thing Dannielynn gets from her mama? Her blunt curiosity.

Speaking about how he explained Smith's death to his young daughter, Birkhead shared, "At first I said, 'Your mommy's up in the clouds.' Then we were on a plane from Kentucky and she asked, 'Which cloud is my mom on, maybe she can come play?'"

Smith, 39, tragically died in 2007 after an accidental drug overdose -- a bitter paternity battle between Birkhead and Smith's then boyfriend, Howard K. Stern, followed. But Birkhead won the daddy debacle and with it also inherited the overwhelmingly difficult job of protecting Dannielynn from the media's characterization of her mother.

A British opera house recently staged a satirical production, the 'Anna Nicole' opera, which enraged the doting father.

"One day my daughter is going to see this trash," he said. "These aren't images you want to relate to your child."

We have a feeling that explaining an overseas opera will be the least of Birkhead's worries when Dannielynn hits the asking age.

God, I hope she does not take after Anna

Anna was a uneducated, stripper, low life, gold digger, drug addict woman
who would do ANYTHING to keep herself in the public eye. Lets call her exactly
what she was, and stop the hype on her being wonderful.

This child needs to never know the life her mother led. She certainly never needs to be a star for no reason other than you were doing bad things. He needs to point her in another direction. Yet HE was all about Anna, so he likes that lifestyle. Just scary.

Anna was a beautiful woman w/ a huge heart & great sense of humor.Unlike u nasty jealous pigs on here. She was the queen of reality tv which ur all addicted too now.

Sue tells it like it is while Marie tosses out that tired old 'jealous' card. Face it, Birkhead always has HIS best interests at heart. What parent would take a 5 year old to the Kentucky Derby and have her pose with him on the photo-op wall, using her like a prop, unless he knew that such exploitation would definitely get him the media attention he was looking for? This child will be pimped out for every dime Daddy can get his hands on. It's already begun, obviously. How sad would it be to find her being led down the same path as her mother?

I agree. This woman was an atrocity. Showing her so intoxicated on tv that someone had to hold her up????? What the hell was that? Hanging all over her own son, slurring, falling all over men. Just what we want to see. And no, I didn't watch her show, they showed her stoned behavior enough on everything else on tv.

Too bad Anna Nicole isn't around to get Larry Birkhead out of that little girls face. I'll bet Dannielynn would like to push him away, and will when she gets old enough. He's like a pesky, annoying knat, constantly buzzing the poor kid, and has been that way in every picture or video ever shown of them. Give her some room to breath Larry!

Gotta agree-I think Larry needs to keep her out of the public eye as long as he can-no modeling-no camera shots to sell to the tabloids. Let her enjoy her childhood. I think he moved to Ky to raise this kid-good for him. I don't think she looks like Anna anymore-I think she looks like her dad. Sad to say the fact that Anna is gone and he has custody is the best thing that could have happened to this kid-can you imagine the life she would have had if she were being raised by Anna and Howard Stern? Howard used every opportunity to pimp Anna out-he would have done the same thing with Dannielynn-he would do anything for a buck. Maybe now this child has a chance not to turn out like her mother.

Judgemental much? I didn't know Anna Nichole Smith and I highly doubt you did either. Looking down your snoot at someone for their problems, addictions and weaknesses reminds me of a harpy picking at bones. It's behaviour the world could do better without. I feel for this child having to grow up with such nasty holier-than-thou people making remarks about her mother that she may possibly one day see. Be well.

Did you know Anna personally? Or are you just making false accusations that have no proof to your slander? If I was ever on a jury, You're the reason I would never believe or ever listen to someone's testimony because for all I know it could have been the Hamburgler. If you don't have 100% proof to an allegation, then just don't bother showing up and waste my time. Just the same way your blog post is..A waste of reading space.
