Gwyneth Paltrow took on the controversial topic of homosexuality and the Bible head on when she wrote a post on her GOOP newsletter titled 'Homosexuality in the Bible'.In the post Paltrow says, "A few months ago, in the heat of the tragic teen suicides that came about from intolerance of homosexuality, I saw a man on television who was apologizing for wishing death on gays from his facebook page. This member of an Arkansas school board was contrite for the violence in his words, but maintained that his values pertaining to homosexuality would remain, as he felt homosexuality was condemned in the bible."
She continues, "This concept, while foreign to me, is interesting, as it used to justify so much judgement and separation in our society. When my daughter came home from school one day saying that a classmate had two mommies, my response was, "Two mommies? How lucky is she?!"
The 38-year-old actress and singer then asks, "What does it actually say in the bible that will cause some people to be upset by my line of thinking?"

She wasn't sure of the name Eve so she chose Apple. The 2 mommy theory is good, but yin and yang, mommy and daddy is better.

The Bible states that homosexuality is an abomination to God.God does not leave room for a gray area.

I still think Homos are by choice. And being raised by 2 homos is bringing nothing but more problems piled upon the usual problems when growing up.

Well Kookie,
Homosexuality is probably not by choice, but stupidity and bigotry are. We can all tell which choice it is that you made.
you need an education

My choice was the right choice. We don't need any more of your kind. You should have stayed under your rock.
I don't understand what she is actually trying to say...is she saying she doesn't know what the Bible says, or that she doesn't think it condemns homosexuality? She didn't actually make that clear...

It amazes me how many stupid, ignorant people live in this country. And we're supposed to be the greatest country? It's called progression, people. Get a clue. Wow.

Jesus came and died for all men. He gave His life because of sin that came to man through Adam.
All of us can be forgiven and cleansed from sin. It is our choice. If we were all good enough to get to Heaven, then Jesus would not have had to die. What will you say to God when you stand at Heaven's gate and He asks you why He should let you in? The only answer that He will accept: "Because I asked your Son Jesus who died for me to forgive all my sins.

The book of Deuteronomy is in the Old Testament, the laws of Moses. The New Testament is the gentile’s dispensation of grace, but there are still "laws" or rules to live a holy life by. Romans chapter 1 talks about homosexuals, but the second chapter of Romans tells us not to judge- in fact, HOW DARE we to judge God's creation. My boys are gay and it took me years to believe they were born gay, although there we signs when they were toddlers. I am a born again Christian Mom who adores her children, as I should. We are all born in sin, and should be born again, filled with God's spirit, baptized in his name (Acts 2:38, 39) Jesus said we MUST be born again of the water and of the spirit. This isn't judging but stating facts. I don't judge my boys, I pray for them as I hope they pray for me. We are all sinners until we leave this world. Let's be kind to all, love all, tolerate our differences, and pray for one another. God is a just and fair God who is our only rightful judge. God bless.

IT SAYS THAT A MAN SLEEPING WITH A MAN, AND A WOMAN SLEEPING WITH A WOMAN IS AN ABOMINATION! LOOK IN THE BOOK OF NUMBERS AND DEUTEROOMY. THE BIBLE SAYS IT, THAT'S ALL I NEED TO KNOW!!

"The Often Overlooked Rules in Deuteronomy
The book Deuteronomy also lays some laws down, but nobody ever mentions them, but why not take a look at those laws also?
Anyone who dreams or prophesizes anything that is against God, or anyone who tries to turn you from God, is to be put to death. (Deuteronomy 13:5)
If anyone, even your own family suggests worshipping another God, kill them. (Deuteronomy 13:6-10)
If you find out a city worships a different god, destroy the city and kill all of it's inhabitants... even the animals. (Deuteronomy 13:12-15)
Kill anyone with a different religion. (Deuteronomy 17:2-7)
This shows you that it really is scary that people want to make the Bible part of the law. Not to mention it sheds light on why Christians are so overly oppressive to those who don't share their belief. Sick, sick, sick. It can also be said that any person who uses the Bible to justify beating a homosexual, is a hypocrite if he doesn't adhere to all of these laws."

There are many, many laws in Leviticus and Deuteronomy. I am always amazed at how many Christians pick and choose the ones they wish to follow. In the bible, all these laws are seen as equal and unless you are an ultra-orthodox Jew, I can garantee you are not living by most of them. Let us then, not throw stones at those who do us no harm and let's all simply try to make the world a better, kinder place. Right now, that is what is most needed.
Please, stop worrying about what consenting adults are doing in private. It is impolite and a waste of time.

Pretty sure the bible, or God, was pretty clear about immorality in general. I take the side of tolerance because what does hatred fix. We all fail(sin) and fall short of the glory of God. Note the word ALL. So only by His grace are we given the oppurtunity to be saved. You can get legalistic and begin to heirarchy the sins, but in general a murderer and a thief both sinned. I feel like sometimes we run from one great debate to another. Love each other people and read the bible. It is yours to understand. If God your heart is right conviction will set in, but no one can make that happen by force.

The Bible simply reflects the obnoxious male dominating male view in the middle east. We still see it today. There is more blood on the hands of religion than any other thing. Who is any one person that can set themselves ahead or above another? I have and would rather, live next door to decent gay people than a lot of the "religious" haters I see today.

You God haters and Biblephobes are in for a VERY big surprise one day. I don't necessarily agree with every decree God Almighty has given. However, when I am brilliant enough to create my own universe and everything in it, maybe I'll change some things. Until then, I will revere the one who did.
