Lily Allen Weds, Groom Announces: She's Pregnant

UPDATE: News broke this weekend that Lily Allen's groom, Sam Cooper, shared a very happy secret with wedding guests at the reception: Allen is currently several months' pregnant. Last fall, not long before the couple's engagement, she suffered a miscarriage, so the announcement surely thrilled her loved ones.

British recording artist Lily Allen, 26, is a married woman. The outspoken pop star wore a lacy veiled headress, platform heels and a traditional white gown by French designer Delphine Manivet as she exchanged vows Saturday with longtime beau Sam Cooper.

The ceremony took place in the English countryside, at a centuries-old church in the quaint Gloucestershire village of Cranham, where a cheering crowd gathered to catch a glimpse of the newlyweds as they exited the house of worship.

Fans were alerted to the singer's nuptials when a guest leaked the Save-the-Date card to the press back in March.

About 100 guests reportedly attended the wedding, with 300 friends and family in attendance at the private reception on the grounds of an estate the Grammy nominee owns in Cranham.

The bride's father, musician and actor Keith Allen, walked her down the aisle, according to People.com.

The happy couple, who began dating in 2009, got engaged when Cooper popped the question on Christmas Day 2010 while vacationing with Allen in Bali.

Heartbreak plagued Allen's personal life in the past two years, as she suffered her second miscarriage in October 2010. Allen has described Cooper, 32, as "the love of my life."

hate to spoil her day how could she ware white after having two miscarriages she should of wore another color other than white your right nice head piece. oh well maybe that was gods way of telling to get married and do things right and not have a baby out of wedlock like most women are doing these days hate to say this but there's a lot of bastards running around with no fathers to claim and no fathers with no responsabilty to claim these children they had remember folk it takes two to have kids and not one person.

It is 2011, brides can wear whatever color they choose, would you be so upset if a 2nd time bride wore white as well? Let me guess you did and your wedding and you were a virgin, because if not you are a HYPOCRITE.
Maybe you should be mad at the boys who abandon their children, not some stranger who has been through a lot of heartache in the past couple years with her pregnancies? If it was your friend/sister who had just lost 2 babies wouold you tell her it "was gods way of telling to get married and do things right", or are you just trying to make an example of her because you are jealous/lonely/bored/your husband is cheating on you with someone who looks like her?

yes i was a virgin when i got married 25 yrs ago. and no my husband is not having an affair because he gives me his pay check every two weeks when he gets it, and i write the checks out if you need to know. and my mother was a single mother for who's husband of 13 yrs got up and had affair with a man left her with all bills to pay and died a poor man in a county hospital in new Mexico. and my mother did well at the time of her retirement after working for 52 years at her job. and when i got married i could not dishonor my mother by getting pregnant at a young age because after all my mother did her best to raise me alone and she gave me proper education that her money could buy. my mother thought me values and to say the word NO means NO. and to respect myself as good woman. and no i don't have children because the world today is way over populated as is.

@ valerie: You're entitled to your opinion. Everyone is. Just because your opinion isn't the most popular, people are going to call you out for it. Especially here at these Scandal Mags where if a Hollywood marriage lasts more than a year, it's considered a LONG term relationship. I happen to agree with you. And, Dear, by the way, you don't owe ANYONE here ANY explanation or description of your life and you DON'T need to justify your feelings to ANYONE but yourself. Especially trolls who are miserable themselves. Live a happy life, valerie, and don't let these trolls bother you. Some people just get a thrill creating mayhem. Those sad, pathetic little lives, they have nothing better to do than surf the message boards and trash people whose opinions differ from their own. Ignore them!

Years ago, they would say that he's finally making an "honest woman" of her.

First of all, I think her dress was alot more stylish and attractive than Kate's. Second of all, a white dress never had anything to do with the bride's virginity (or lack of it). Up until Queen Victoria married Prince Albert in 1840, there was no such thing a a "wedding gown" per se; a bride simply wore her best dress. White just wasn't practical. Maybe Victoria just liked the idea of a white dress, but she was quite a trend setter in her time. The Victorians were very much into ostentation, and nothing said "conspicuous consumption" like an elaborate, expensive white dress that the bride would never wear again.

One more thing: What's with the bride and groom dolls she was carrying? Is that a British custom?

Wearing white at your wedding means that you have never been married before. It doesn't matter if you have children or are pregnant. However, that does not stop women who have been married more than once from wearing white a 2nd or 3rd time.

congrats to the happy newly weds. @Jerzfox Kate Middleton was coping Princess Grace's wedding dress from when she married Rainier of Monaco April 18th 1956. not all brides wear white even if it's their first wedding Joanne Woodward wore beige when she married Paul Newman and she was also a pregnant bride like Lily is. though she also as Lily did miscarried the baby a couple of weeks after the wedding. besides Lily's last lost wasn't a miscarriage it was a still born as any pregnancy loss after 20 weeks gestation is. of course she did later give him three daughters Eleanore Melissa & Claire plus he had a son and two daughters from his first marriage
