Jessica Simpson is going back to her reality TV roots. But if you think the singer is filming another 'Newlyweds'-type show with fiance Eric Johnson, think again. Simpson has been tapped to bring her fashion sense to the small screen as a mentor on NBC's new reality show, 'Fashion Star.'

According to E! Online, Simpson will act as a fashion guru on the reality show, which will follow 14 aspiring designers angling to get funding for their own lines. Elle McPherson will host the program, which will be taped in front of a live audience and allow viewers to buy the winning designs after each week's challenge.

The winner will receive a multimillion-dollar contract to have their designs sold in three large American retailers -- something Simpson knows quite a bit about.

It was recently revealed that Simpson, who is best known for her singing career, is well on her way to making a billion dollars in revenue this year from her own fashion line, the Jessica Simpson Collection.
