Justin Timberlake on Weed: 'Some People Are Just Better High'

Although we'd like to think that
Justin Timberlake's fans are smart enough to make their own choices, we have a feeling that the former Mouseketeer may receive some bad role model flak for his recent accolades for a certain herbal wonder, marijuana.
"The only thing pot does for me is it gets me to stop thinking," Timberlake told
Playboy. "Sometimes I have a brain that needs to be turned off. Some people are just better high."
According to the actor, comedian and singer, a mellowed out brain is exactly what he needs.
"I feel I'm just getting to a point in my life where I'm looking around, going, there's a lot to enjoy if I can just sit still, actually stop and take more time."
But Timberlake's new mantra may put his singing career a little too far on the back burner.
"I don't have a single song ready to go," he said. "People keep asking me when a new song or album is coming out, and I don't know what to say."
Maybe Timberlake's puff puff pass habit also had something to do with his split from longtime girlfriend,
Jessica Biel -- we can't imagine the poised actress ever partaking in Timberlake's zen searching pastime.
But whatever Timberlake's doing -- he's got another box office hit up his sleeve in 'Friends with Benefits' -- his career couldn't be hotter. Blaze on, brother!

DITTO!!!
Its not his job to raise your stupid kids!!! Raise those dopes yourselves!!!
@howie,huh?
Not you Tony:) Just talking in general to the people who want actors and athelets to raise their kids. Keep smoking JT:)
If he sang about smoking a blunt in da club, no one would notice or care. He sings about sex all the time AND, no one cares. He is a 30-year-old man doing an interview for Playboy. If he wants to spark one to chill out once in a while, so what?
He's a big enough star to more than get away with such an asinine statement, but really, I get a kick out of you people defending and embracing such ignorance. I understand there's a world full of clods who'd prefer to believe that they somehow function at peak efficiency when under the influence of illicit drugs, but even if that were true, which it isn't, is that something you morons would be proud of?
@wayne,go to hell!
Uh, no useless a**hole, YOU go to hell with your idiotic notions of how great your filthy drugs are.
Celebrities need to keep their vices to themselves and not publicly tout things like pot, drugs or alcohol as "cures" for their daily woes. Charlie Sheen swears that taking cocaine clears his head, too. Doesn't mean I want him blabbing about it though.

@peter, but you would not have a problem with them promoting christianity another fictionl BS. The waar on drugs is a waste of your and mine money. It is time to end the prohibition and legalize it, NOW.
Just because certain indivuals have talent and have chosen to use pot (which is not a drug it grows naturally in the earth) or whatever its none of your business to project your conservative opinion on them. If someone choses not to use good for them if they do then good for them too.
Maybe the reason he doesn't have anything to promote right now is because he's smoking pot...I personally don't have an issue with someone using pot in the privacy of their homes, as long as they don't drive (just like people drinking) or doing a job that involves the safety of the public. When it interferes with your ability to perform your job and be able to be productive, then you need to stop it. Evidently he wants to shut down for a while...ok. The fact that he can't seem to perform, write, or do his work during the day and enjoy it responsibly says more about his personality and possibly addictive personality than anything else. As for those offended that he uses pot at all, at least he's honest about it, and he's not touting it in his work to your tweens, like so many other artists. So shut it with your judgementmental crap.
i dont like justin timberlake now and i didnt like him when he was with nsync.

Given that marijuana is ILLEGAL, regardless of whether or not you agree with as much, it's recreational use is a rather dumb thing for someone in his position to be touting in any way. Timberlake is one of the most respected performers in the music industry, not talking about some burnt-out metalhead or the guys from Cypress Hill. Yeah, he's certainly not the only A-list celeb who'll readily laud pot if given a chance do so, but that's not the point as they're wrong to do so as well. Oh well, like most you're simply not that bright. Next...
What kind of message is this guy sending to adolescents? Teens
should never smoke that crap. The research clearly shows how
harmful pot is physically, emotionally and intellectually. He
should stick to his music, and leave medical opinions to the
professionals!!

Ya, Don't smoke that crap, kids should smoke cigarretes, nutmeg, cocaine crack, heroin, but just smoke that natural weed that does nothing but make you lazy and eat pizza, natural pain relief from terminal illness. It costs us Billiones of dollars in the war on drugs (we so obviously have lost) in the mean time you can legally buy Oxicodine that will KILL your kids. Wake up and smell the smoke...you just might like it!
Research DOES not show pot to be harmful. Why not look at the bed effects of alchohol. Now there have ben tons of studies saying how bad it is for you.
Timberlake is not in this world to live up to your, or anyone else's, expectations. I'm sure you do what you want to do and don't want any outside interference. So does Timberlake. So do I. It's not timberlake's job to be a role model or preach to anyone's offspring the bad side of drug use. That job belongs to the parents. Your holier-than-thou rant suggests you have some deep seated psychological issues that should be addressed between you and a professional.
