Teen Mom Amber Portwood in Hospital After Suicide Threat

After threatening to commit suicide, '16 and Pregnant' star, Amber Portwood, has been rushed to an Anderson, Indiana hospital, according to Radar Online. The 21-year-old teen mom was found by police in her home on Tuesday afternoon in an extremely depressive state.

Earlier, the mother of two-year-old daughter, Leah, had a disturbing phone conversation with the father of her daughter, Gary Shirley. Upon hanging up with his on-off girlfriend, Shirley advised a relative of Portwood to go to the MTV reality star's home to check on her. Instead, the relative alerted authorities to Portwood's potentially suicidal state and soon after, police arrived at her residence.

According to a statement, "Late this morning (11:34 a.m.), Anderson Police responded to a call at a residence in the 1300 block of Pleasant Meadow Drive. According to the caller, 21-year-old Amber L. Portwood was depressed and threatening to end her life. The victim, who did not appear to be injured, was transported to a local medical facility for further evaluation."

But a source relayed to Radar that Portwood's state was a bit more dire.

"Two policemen arrived, found her face-up on the couch and immediately called for an ambulance," the source said. "When two EMT workers arrived, they removed the rope that Amber had loosely knotted around her neck. They tried speaking with her, but she was in and out of consciousness and couldn't respond; she was just moaning. They gave her an oxygen mask, put her on a gurney, and rushed her to the hospital."

Portwood's suicide threats comes on the heels of a difficult year for the reality star. After being caught by MTV cameras physically abusing baby daddy, Shirley, just last week Portwood plead guilty to domestic battery charges. She also temporarily lost custody of her young daughter in early May.

Although Portwood is still at the medical facility, she is reportedly conscious and stable.

Not buying into it. A real suicide attempt either A. The person calls no one. B. The person is close enough to death and they make a brief phone call. By the time anyone arrives they are dead. C. They call no one and leave a suicide note. She's full of it! Trying to get herself out of something.

She just needs to leave this guy and try to straighten out her life with a positive support system. This man depresses me whenever I watch this show. He is constantly threatening her that he will take away the child. What is this? This is not parenting this is a nightmare. He needs a real job, lose weight and get a life. She needs to get her life on track - the gravy train will not last forever.

She's USH! And, he's USH! Damn, that baby's going to be one ugly girl when she grows up, even though it's not her fault. Unless, genetically speaking, two negatives make a positive. But, we all know t it doesn't work like that. Snooki II and a walking blob simply should not be reproducing. Why do fat boys always have stains on their shirts?

As a society, this kind of reality show is just enabling alot of problems, for both the teen parents and the poor kids......"Let's get preggo and end up on TV....yeah!"......And those that watch this idiocy on a regular basis are really hard up for entertainment i guess..........
