Justin Timberlake Defends Britney Spears' Dancing

Justin Timberlake's Playboy interview reveals he "absolutely" smokes weed, and also shows the 'Friends With Benefits' star jumping to the defense of ex-girlfriend and pop princess Britney Spears.

During the interview, the singer-turned-actor was asked about the criticism surrounding Spear's current dance moves and he became defensive about his former flame.

"I don't have too much to say about her situation. I can't remember the last conversation I had with her," he said. "But this thing that happens online bothers me -- these anonymous commenters."

He urged those talking trash about the singer to put their money where there mouth is, so to say.

"People think they can say anything and it doesn't matter to people," he said. "I'd love to see the people who comment about Britney online say those things to her face, because they couldn't."

"The internet is a cruel place. What a f--ed-up thing to do," he added, when told about the "dance-off" video comparing Spears' current dance moves to those of her earlier performances (like 'I'm a Slave 4 U' and 'Me Against the Music').

He also said that a 30-year-old performer isn't always going to be able to dance like someone in their teens or early 20s.

"In Britney's defense, if you pulled up a video I did from 2003, I couldn't do the sh-t I did then either."

I dont' get it. James Brown, Prince, MJ, and Janet Jackson can do/did their earlier moves even after 25-30 years. Some people really have talent and some just fake it big time. MC Hammer can still do his moves and he's older. That's the difference. MC Hammer can still do his moves and he's older. All te above mentioned had more difficult dance moves.

JT and Brit have never had real the talent that translates into staying power. Period.

That's so not true ... I've been dancing for my whole life, and I can tell you that I can't do it like before. Not because I do not have talent, but because my knees are killing me!!! My body doesn't allow me to dance like I use to. Good for the others if they can still dance like before, they are lucky. And I LOVE MJ to death, but you cannot say that he danced like before when he was almost 50, that is not true, check videos!!!!!!! It was not as good as when he was 20 or 30 years old. It's just normal, because your body changes. Britney had several operation to her knee so ....

And what the hell do you do to improve the world? Raise millions of dollars for children born with birth defects like Justin Timberlake has done for the past three years and will do again this October for Shriners Hospital? He has a beautiful voice, is funny because he makes fun of himself and does not have a big ego and is a talented actor.

I did say something about her dancing and it is terrible...I don't hate her or wish bad for her...I am stating the obvious thats all...its as if she forgot how to do it at all...sorry but when you charge and arm and a leg for a ticket you expect better then she is giving...her tickets for a fair at best performance should be pretty cheap...sorry if this offends and YES I would say it to her face...bring her to me and I will.

I was never a brittney fan. I was never a Justin fan but I do admit he grew on me. You can hate all you want but there is NO question he is talented. he can dance, sing, act. As for staying power?? he has been in the game like 15 years. People underestimate how big Nsync was. They sold over 2 MILLION albums the FIRST week and SOLD OUT 5, yes 5 Giant STADIUMS.

Dance moves by guys don't do anything for me,women look good dancing. A guy like Timberlake has to dance to help hide his lack of a manly voice. The vocals are manipulated so much now by the producers that anyone can't sound halfway decent although they have a weak voice. Even the instruments are sythesized on most of the "pop" music. Sad state of affairs.

I grew up in the sixies, when music was acutally really really really good. I have never seen anyone in Justin's generation that is every bit as talented as my generation. The kid is good. period. I also think he's grown into a fine man. People continue to talk about Britney, an affair that was over ten or fifteen years ago, and he does not dog her? He defends her? He's as good a guy as I've ever seen. You go Justin~! Loving your acting!
