Details About Prince William and Kate's California Trip Revealed

Prince William and Kate Middleton will get a taste of California life in July when they follow their Canadian trip with a stay in the Golden State. Details of what the Royal Couple will be doing on their visit have been scarce -- until now.

According to PEOPLE, the couple's three-day trip will begin on Friday, July 8, with a Consular-General Reception on behalf of United Kingdom Trade and Investment.

The couple will use their West Coast trip to focus "on supporting British interest in California through the prism of their own interests," an official spokesperson from St. James's Palace said.

The next day, William will hit the polo field at the Santa Barbara Polo Club, where he'll play a match to benefit the American Friends of the Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry.

Later that night, the couple will attend a black-tie dinner to spotlight "up and coming British talent" in downtown Los Angeles. The event, which benefits the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, will be followed by a reception at the Belasco Theatre.

Finally, on Sunday, Will and Kate will stop by the Inner-City Arts School, and will attend the 'Service Nation: Mission Serve' job fair for veterans in Culver City before heading back to the UK.

The trip will be Will's first "official" visit to the States, although he's visited before privately. However, this it will be a brand new experience for Kate, who has never been to the U.S.

Though their schedule seems pretty packed, it's been reported that many celebrities are hoping for the chance to meet the Royal Couple, who captured the country's attention when they were married in April.

Santa Barbara is beautiful, actually. LA, not so much, if that's what you mean.

I think you have watched too many movies to realize that LA is not just about gangbangers and illegals.

As one who has lived in Los Angeles for almost 30 years, ( I was born in California and have lived here all of my life) you will find great culture, theaters, museums, great beaches, fantastic weather here in LA. For someone who probably does not live here, saying we are of only gang bangers and illegals is arrogant.

The royals will have a beautiful time in Santa Barbara. I am sure there will be plenty of security to protect them from your so called 'gang bangers and illegals'. And for them to see California, and only California is great for our state.

I would love to see Will and Kate take a bus tour of the the states and really get a taste of America. We have a great country, even the small towns and boonies are great. We as American take so much for granit. We are a great nation and our best resourse is the American people.

Good grief....we should be glad they are visiting the great USA. They could choose some other place besides here. I know not to many people care about British life but is a reason why they have Kings and Queens over the UK. Each country has their own cultures and beliefs, why people can accept that. I am sure they think Americans are different as well. I personally find it interesting. I wish them well as I know William & Harry grew up with so many challenges after they loss their mother. God Bless them....

Nope, she is HRH Duchess of Cambridge now.

yes, she is now HRH Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. She was not born a Princess of the United Kingdom, therefore, cannot be one unless in the future, but letters patent, the reigning monarch makes her a Princess.

If Prince Charles EVER gets to be King (and I got a feeling he will be a pretty straight forward and traditional King), and then like his Mother chooses to remain as King until his death, Prince William and Princess Katherine may be looking at a VERY LONG career as Prince and Princess. And by that time they will be very "seasoned" and experienced but probably not near as interesting and "modern thinking" as as they appear to be now.
