Report: Amber Portwood Calls Suicide Attempt 'Euphoric, Wonderful'

After reports that '16 and Pregnant' star, Amber Portwood was rushed to an Indiana emergency room after threatening and allegedly attempting to commit suicide, a source close to Portwood's on-off boyfriend and baby daddy, Gary Shirley, told Life & Style the details behind her depressive state.

According to the source, on Tuesday morning, Portwood and Shirley got into an argument over the phone, during which Portwood accused Shirley of cheating on her.

"She said she was mad because he cheated on her, but he thinks that was just [an excuse] to pick a fight with him, because it happened two years ago," the source revealed. "She said she was upset, she was going to kill herself."

But Shirley's response was reportedly less than responsible. "Go ahead," he encouraged Portwood, who was clearly already in a fragile state.

"Okay, when you come check on me, I'll be in the garage with a rope around my neck and you'll find my body there," Portwood, 21, reportedly responded.

After ending the conversation, Shirley, 24, attempted to contact Portwood via phone and text message several times to no avail. Shirley then asked his mother to drive to Portwood's home to check on the mother of his two-year-old daughter, Leah. But when his mother arrived, Portwood's front door was locked and she was forced to wait outside until police, whom Shirley had called, arrived on the premises.

Upon finding the depressed reality star laying face-up on her couch (varying reports render her state of consciousness unclear) she was rushed to an Anderson, Indiana emergency room, where Portwood's mindset seemed to be most at risk.

"She told Gary, 'It was the best feeling. I love the way it made me feel. It was euphoric. It was wonderful,'" the source recalled of Portwood's post suicide threat conversation with Shirley.

"He said at that moment he felt like trash," the continued regarding Shirley's emergency room interaction with Portwood. "To be standing there with the mother of his child, who just attempted suicide. They got into an argument, of course. He ended up leaving her there."

Portwood's alleged suicide attempt comes on the heals of her guilty plea to two counts of domestic battery for a previous altercation with Shirley that MTV caught on tape. The plea will allow Portwood to escape any jail time but she was sentenced to two years of probation, 30 days of inpatient treatment and an order to earn her high school diploma and begin a saving's account for her daughter's college education.

Maybe it was just a ploy to have people watch the Teen Mom Reunion show? She's on probation. Suicide how ever feebly attempted is a felony. Lock her up and put that baby in a good ADOPTIVE home.

Okay, I have watched since the beginning of 16 amd pregnant, and Amber needs help and support...Gary is not blameless in all of this. Its so sad, if you watch the early episodes of Teen Mom after Leah was born- she really did try. It seems to me that during the whole GED struggle, that's when she started giving up. :( At least she's not like Jenelle Evans- she left her kid in his crib after whining to her mother that SHE was his mother- and then, says- okay, I'm gonna leave him and go hang out...WTF? As far as Amber,she needs to get the help that she needs so that she can raise her daughter...Gary needs to step away.

I look at this picture of Miss Portwood and I see Selena Gomez after 4 boyfriends and 2 kids.

At what point was this poor young thing so off her game that she said to Mr. Shirley, "Yeah, f*ck it, climb on...just don't lay there when you're done, I'm a little claustrophobic!"

What state does she live in that they are still allowing these two nut jobs to have that child in their care? I mean seriously, whats it going to take for the state to take that child away??? She is beyound crazy. She was crazy on the show when she was pregnant & she is still crazy. He isnt much better. He needs to get his balls out of her purse & get away from her.
