It's a Boy for Josh and Anna Duggar

We have a feeling there will be no shortage of babysitters on hand for Josh and Anna Duggar's new baby boy. The newborn, who will become little brother to the couple's first child, MacKynzie, already has 18 aunts and uncles -- the stars of TLC's '19 Kids and Counting.'

The baby boy, whose name, his parents hinted, begins with an 'M,' was born at the couple's Tontitown, Arkansas home on Wednesday, three days before he was due, according to People. But Anna still gave birth to a healthy 8 lb. 5 oz. bundle of joy, to the delight of two very happy grandparents, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar.

The new baby will also have a built-in playmate in his youngest aunt, Josie, who is 17 months old.

Did anyone notice that it said the baby was born at their home? Wonder if that was planned? Not that there is anything wrong with that, just most people go to the hospital. Glad everyone is ok. Blessings to them! And to all you haters...stop it! None of them live off of us, so get over it. They sustain themselves with real estate investments, and he used to be a state rep (or something, don't remember). But they don't get govt. aid. More than can be said for many! I wouldn't personally want to have that many children, but it's THEIR life! The kids know how to work, and are respectful. Most kids nowadays aren't.

They do get government aid. They don't pay taxes. That many dependents, plus the medical bills, preclude any tax paying. So if you don't pay taxes, you are essentially being subsidized by the government. Everyone should have to pay something, even this family.

Btw-it takes at least two children to replace a mother and father. With most people not having at least two children, we will eventually stop replacing ourselves and be extinct. God help us. These people are picking up the slack for everyone who is not having children. God bless them.

SERIOUSLY? You think we're at risk of going extinct? Actual facts concerning climbing world population at an exponential rate must not factor into this line of thinking. Believe me, if 80% of the people in the world have 1 or 0 kids, the unrestrained breeding of the other 20% would keep up just fine. And there is no way humans are ever going to have 80% invested in controlling their reproduction that way. Just not even remotely a concern worth fretting over.

Unfortunately, I have to agree with Lisaberry100 on this one. There is a study on youtube that breaks up the population and shows death with replacement, etc. It is mainly geared at Muslim domination theories, but the civilizations that are no longer on the planet were explained by diminishing birth rates. There is a lot of truth to sustaining populations and ensuring their existance and growth through birth rate.

I am not suggesting youtube is an intellectual think tank; rather, there is something of value there concerning this.

Actually the article is wrong. The children have 25 aunts and uncles. They left out Anna's 7 siblings.
I congratulate them on their new arrival. Any child should be celebrated. That's whats wrong with our society. We are negative, hateful people that worry more about whats going on in someone else's home than whats going on in our own. What does it matter to the haters how many children these people have? They don't affect your daily life. Children should be loved and protected, no matter how they came into this world. I am an Atheist and I like to watch the Duggars. Not for their beliefs, but for the way they raise their children and the way they treat others. If all families could raise just one child the way Michelle raised 19, the world would be a better place!

The duggars live in Arkansa and are baptist and mot mormons or piligamist. Maybe you got the show mixed up with the show "sister wives" who are from utah and they are a piligamist family.

I don't know if they pay taxes or not, not my business. If he is a preacher and is legally not paying taxes what do you care? Legal is the key word here. I believe they do hold weekly church services in their home and they do missions trips, etc. I'm sure they are under enough scrutiny that the whole country would know if they did one tiny thing that was not legal or above board.

I hope they have as many children as God allows....they work, they dont use the government to raise their kids or feed their families so why shouldnt they have as many as they want? Their kids are all polite, well educated, generous, giving, loving and they go out into the world and do something good for it. Stop being so judgmental and saying things like "cult child baring family". Bigger families used to be the norm and as long as you can afford to raise your children its wonderful to have as many as you can. Congrats to the Duggars...mayb you be blessed with many more.
