Lady Gaga's last few music videos were huge productions, complete with group dance numbers, Biblical references and outrageous outfits. So how does the video for 'Edge of Glory' stack up compared to the earlier singles from Gaga's 'Born This Way' album?Gaga tones down the crazy -- at least by her standards -- for the '80s-inspired power ballad, and really gets her money's worth out of a fog machine. From singing on a fire escape and sitting on a city stoop to walking down an empty street at night (or should we say New York City-themed studio lot?), Gaga fittingly pays homage to the classic 80s music videos of yore, as well as her time living in NYC's East Village.
E Street Band saxophonist Clarence Clemons, who recently suffered a stroke, also appears in the video alongside Gaga, delivering some smooth sax sounds just as he does on the record.

For such a powerful song, the video was lame. It was like an old style 80's cheap video.

Thats the trouble with music today, people buy something for the video not the music. With out videos 60% of the music, especially rap would never make it anywhere. Lady Ga Ga is the exception, she doesn't need a video, her music stands on it's own.
I believe that was the point, as the song itself is very 80s-inspired.
The Chick is nuts but if you close your eyes and just listen shes good. I love Clarence Clemons I wish him luck in is recovery.

The video is fine. Not every video needs to have a million visuals (and dollars) to be good. Somebody said it's like an 80's video, well the song kind-of is too. GaGa RULES !

The song is great! This album is definitely more eclectic than her past albums. However, this video just seems too "Rent"-ish for me, especially considering the lyrics to the song... maybe that is what she was going for. I love the song, but the video is blase'.

"Ashtray" was actually kind of funny, but "Stinko" was just lame.

The song is ok.. the video mediocre. I think the problem is, that Lady GaGa set an incredibly high standard for herself and when something doesn't have the huge visuals and stunning effects, people are going to be dissapointed. Most of the time her videos tell a story and are very linear. This one feels half done.

This totally feels like an homage to the 80's! Part "Flashdance" part Michael Jackson. Pure Gaga.

I actually think this is one of the better songs on the album, however, this video is totally unmemorable. Then again, I'm more likely to listen to her music than watch it so it's really no big deal.

love my man Clarence...but...and I am just puttin' this out there...was the actual The Edge (from U2) not available... That would've been way cool....way literal...but way cool.

I love Lady GaGa, but I have to agree... this video leaves a lot to be desired. I think she has already set the standard so high for herself, that it's going to be hard to keep out-doing the previous video.
