'Green Mile' Actor Doug Hutchison, 51, Marries Aspiring Singer, 16

They say love is timeless but is it ageless too? Apparently it is for 'Green Mile' actor, Doug Hutchison, 51, and his 16-year-old bride. Hutchison tied the knot with nearly legal, Courtney Alexis Stodden, an aspiring country singer, on Monday in Las Vegas, according to E! Online. We're sure that Stodden had an overload of material for her diary this year -- a driver's license and a marriage license!

Hutchison, who is most known for his role as Percy Wetmore in 'The Green Mile,' has also appeared in 'Lost' and '24.' The actor and his new bride share a 35 year age difference -- a gap that the couple isn't trying to hide.

"We're aware that our vast age difference is extremely controversial," the couple said in a statement released by their spokesperson. "But we're very much in love and want to get the message out there that true love can be ageless."

According to the Clark County, Nevada Marriage Bureau, both marriage license applicants must be at least 18 years of age. But minors (below the age of 18) are able to obtain a license with the consent of a parent or legal guardian -- reasoning that at least one of Stodden's parents approves of their daughter's May-December marriage.

Hutchison's young wife is a former beauty pageant queen and hopes to become the next big thing out of Nashville. Marrying a much older D-list actor is certainly one way to do it -- although the couple insists that their union is based purely on genuine love.

Gina, are you insane? She might not be a "child", but she is not an adult or young adult for that matter (not capable of making "ADULT" decisions, you know like marrying a 51 year old man). I was forced to mature fast due to the environment I was raised in, but even now at 35 I look back and realize at 17, 18, 19, 20, etc how immature I really was, even though I was more mature than my counter-parts. People who are raised in environments that force you to grow up quick, are the very same ones who will need to be cautious and not "grow up too quick". They need to learn to be a kid or enjoy life instead of constantly being forced to grow up.

It sounds as if one her parents may have had good sense. This is frighteningly stupid and, regardless of legal status, seems to border on sex with a child. Creepy. Let's make a note to revisit this in about three or four years and see if "true love" still prevails. (Note: Wouldn't you love to go to her high school prom--just to see?)

Why can't he find someone his own age? Young girls are easily manipulated and he's taking full advantage. Her parent(s) must have a loose screw for even thinking this is acceptable. How can they even think this is a good idea?
