'Green Mile' Actor Doug Hutchison, 51, Marries Aspiring Singer, 16

They say love is timeless but is it ageless too? Apparently it is for 'Green Mile' actor, Doug Hutchison, 51, and his 16-year-old bride. Hutchison tied the knot with nearly legal, Courtney Alexis Stodden, an aspiring country singer, on Monday in Las Vegas, according to E! Online. We're sure that Stodden had an overload of material for her diary this year -- a driver's license and a marriage license!

Hutchison, who is most known for his role as Percy Wetmore in 'The Green Mile,' has also appeared in 'Lost' and '24.' The actor and his new bride share a 35 year age difference -- a gap that the couple isn't trying to hide.

"We're aware that our vast age difference is extremely controversial," the couple said in a statement released by their spokesperson. "But we're very much in love and want to get the message out there that true love can be ageless."

According to the Clark County, Nevada Marriage Bureau, both marriage license applicants must be at least 18 years of age. But minors (below the age of 18) are able to obtain a license with the consent of a parent or legal guardian -- reasoning that at least one of Stodden's parents approves of their daughter's May-December marriage.

Hutchison's young wife is a former beauty pageant queen and hopes to become the next big thing out of Nashville. Marrying a much older D-list actor is certainly one way to do it -- although the couple insists that their union is based purely on genuine love.

I know what you mean I looked her up and no way does she look 16 she looks more like she's 25 or 26. but still the parents should have not let her marry a 51 yr old man.

OMG Okay yes one of her parents "signed her over" and YES it's disgusting and hideous (my opinion) but in their defense, I was married at 16 but to a 20 year old, not a 51 year old. My dad didn't want to but my mom KNEW if she hadn't I would have ran away with him and eventually done it anyway, so she signed it. Maybe whichever parent signed it decided not to let that happen with their daughter. Trust me, when she gets older, say 19 or 20, she'll realize she has more potential, and she'll either end up dead (due to his jealousy and rage) OR they'll live happily ever after! Hey, it happens! I now have 4 kids and have been married to the one I married for 16 years now! Of course I hear we are an exception to the rule! It's still gross, 16 and 51...ughhh!

This makes me sick to see a grown man having a sick sense of thought marrying a child. and the parents who was probably paid off to do so . so they sold their daughter is that it. all 3 are sick bastards and for the state to allow this is even more sicking.

ok...this guy should be put in jail cause you know he already had sex with her...the parents should also be put in jail and lose custody of their children...to me this guy is a pedofile and should be treated as such...This 16 year old girl needs counseling and to be removed from her parents home.

I got married when I was 16 (husband was 17) and trust me we had no clue what marriage really was. It was a struggle for many years, we were kids being parents, we had to grow up way too fast. Young kids should not be allowed to marry so young because they truly don't know what they are getting themselves into. This guy should not have been allowed close enough to this girl to date her, let alone marry her. Shame on her parents. I don't care how much in "love" they are.

"Love is ageless...its true love" ok sure, you can't help who you fall in love with, but if he truely in love with her, wouldn't he wait? True love would still be true in 2-3 years when she is of legal age and has grown up a little bit although she would still have alot of growning up to do...but appearently so does he

Ok so maybe she is really confused. Her mom died when she was younger, so her dad gave consent to this marriage and that is just even more disturbing. And I am sorry, she can't sing.

You really can't blame the older men who do this...after all, the women their age have been around the block--it's MUCH more of a challenge to land one of these well-rounded women! While a much younger one is so much more easily impressed..."Wow, I haven't done/seen/tasted/etc. THAT before!" I have a feeling the marriage won't last when she finally grows up! ;-)

Her parents should be brought up on charges for allowing this. I wouldn't let my daughter marry anyone at 16 especially a 51 year old. He is probably older than her parents. By the tines she turns 18 and would have legally been old enough, the marriage will no doubt have been over for awhile.

So, would it be different if it was a 16 year old boy and a 51 year old woman? Most people would SAY it's the same but is that how they really feel?? When the situation is reversed, it's easier for people to accept a younger boy with an older woman. It's pathetic, but true.

Yuck....I have to agree. At least Hef gets them after they are of legal age. Who are the parents to this girl???? They need to have their heads examined. And someone put that they were engaged for 5 years....so he gave her a ring when she was 11? Nasty....no matter how you slice it.

The sad thing about this is the poor girl's prefrontal cortex has not stopped developing - limiting her ability to make rational judgments. There is a lot of emotional and intellectual development that goes on in late adolescence. We all know that what we want at 18 is not what we wanted at 16. What we want at 20 isn't what we wanted at 18. And I'm willing to bet for most that what we want at 25 is far in away different than what we want at 16. I don't hold out much hope for this marriage.
