'Green Mile' Actor Doug Hutchison, 51, Marries Aspiring Singer, 16

They say love is timeless but is it ageless too? Apparently it is for 'Green Mile' actor, Doug Hutchison, 51, and his 16-year-old bride. Hutchison tied the knot with nearly legal, Courtney Alexis Stodden, an aspiring country singer, on Monday in Las Vegas, according to E! Online. We're sure that Stodden had an overload of material for her diary this year -- a driver's license and a marriage license!

Hutchison, who is most known for his role as Percy Wetmore in 'The Green Mile,' has also appeared in 'Lost' and '24.' The actor and his new bride share a 35 year age difference -- a gap that the couple isn't trying to hide.

"We're aware that our vast age difference is extremely controversial," the couple said in a statement released by their spokesperson. "But we're very much in love and want to get the message out there that true love can be ageless."

According to the Clark County, Nevada Marriage Bureau, both marriage license applicants must be at least 18 years of age. But minors (below the age of 18) are able to obtain a license with the consent of a parent or legal guardian -- reasoning that at least one of Stodden's parents approves of their daughter's May-December marriage.

Hutchison's young wife is a former beauty pageant queen and hopes to become the next big thing out of Nashville. Marrying a much older D-list actor is certainly one way to do it -- although the couple insists that their union is based purely on genuine love.

If you think about it he could be a mere 5 yrs younger than her grandparents.
If grandparents had her mother/father at age 20, and her parents had her when they were 20.
Granparents would be 56, and her parents could be as young as 36.

nasty, and what was her parents thinking they got tired of being parents and didnt want to pay for her prom or senior stuff. so they let her marry a senior. well dont worry people he will still be rich they can go any restarunt and save off the kiddie menu and his senior discount. the nasty S. O. B he probley older then her parents

Younger women are so much more easily impressed--they've not lived very long to BE impressed by men. Older women have been around the block so they're much harder TO land, thus the lazy older men who don't want to do the work to marry an equal, a real woman, flirt with the girls, hoping to land one. They are also so much easier to control. Not only do such men need to grow up, so do these girls, and when they DO, they'll be outa there!!! This is often how the sad story goes!

ewwwww omg i would never let my 16 year old daughter date much less marry a 51 year old. he is old enough to be her father or grandfather. that is really sickening. he should be put in jail for that. and idc if they've been engaged for 5 years. that makes it even more sickening because think of how she was 5 years ago.

Itis the fact that the bride is 16 years old that makes this issue more disturbing than the age difference. There is less of an age dfference with this couple than with Hefner and his run away bride. There are girls sixteen and younger getting married every day. Many of these girls are marrying young "boys" that are not much older than they are. There is no proof of any sexual misconduct here and now that they are married the sex is consensual. However, if there is a little "Dougie" in the oven, law enforcement can still charge Doug with having sex with a minor. Maybe we will be seeing her daddy standing next to Doug with a shotgun!
