Paris Hilton and Cy Waits Split

After a year of dating, Paris Hilton and Cy Waits have called it quits. Since the premiere of Hilton's new reality show, 'The World According to Paris,' the pair's turbulent relationship has been broadcast on the small screen as Waits has voiced his distaste for the world of reality TV.

"They are broken up," a source close to the couple told Us magazine. "It's sad, she cares about him a lot and thinks he's a great guy but they really hit a rough patch."

The Vegas club owner's young daughter became a major factor in the couple's demise -- Waits was trying to keep his child from the media attention that Hilton's reality show only magnified.

"[Waits] found it difficult to live his life with her in the spotlight and that's what caused their split," the source continued. "No drama, it's amicable, but things didn't work out."

But a reality show hasn't been the only source of drama in the couple's relationship. Waits was attacked by an angry bystander, in April, as he escorted Hilton into an LA courthouse where she was testifying in a home burglary case. Waits was also caught up in the scandal surrounding his now ex-girlfriend when she was arrested for and plead guilty to cocaine possession in August 2010.

It looks like there's one more single and ready to mingle heiress in the world. But do you think the couple's split is for real or just a ploy to boost Hilton's reality show ratings?

This is a level headed guy who fought for and got sole custody of his adorable daughter, and is doing what he can to protect her and keep her out of the spotlight. He is an excellent business man, does have some good taste, and does the best as he can as a single custody parent.

She, on the other hand, cannot stand being out of the spotlight for any reason. Her self-esteem is so transparent you can read a newspaper clearly through it. It's all about her and how quickly she can use people. He has money and a good business reputation. She wanted to cash in on that as well. Once a wh0re always a wh0re.

Hilton will never have a relationship work as she will never give up the one that means the most to her, HERSELF!! She is self-center and at 30 aught to start moving -even if it is SLOWLY- toward maturity! It is time to grow up and think of others!
