UPDATE: Bam Margera responds in shredding Twitter message: "I just lost my best friend, I have been crying hysterical for a full day and piece of sh*t roger ebert has the gall to put in his 2 cents ... About a jackass drunk driving and his is one, f*ck you! Millions of people are crying right now, shut your fat fu*king mouth!"After a photo of Ryan Dunn drinking with two friends was posted to his Twitter account (but has since been removed) just hours before the fatal car wreck that took his own and his passenger's life, suspicions that Dunn was intoxicated before getting behind the wheel have begun to circulate.
The twittersphere has been buzzing with rumblings of Dunn's potential DUI ruling -- although, at this point, a police report categorizes the tragedy as an 'Auto Accident' rather than a 'DUI' -- included in which film critic, Roger Ebert shared his take on the accident.

Sorry, but 6 drinks in 4 hours is too drunk to drive. "Dunn consumed three Miller Lites and three "girlie shots" in almost a four hour time frame and was "not too drunk to drive."
"Lite" doesn't refer to low alcohol, and just because a shot is a "girlie" shot- they still have the same booze.

Ken clearly does not know anything about alcohol and its effects. A man his size probably has to have about 3-4 beers in an hour to be around the legal limit. Also, a man his size also burns off the alcohol in one drink every hour. 6 drinks in 4 hours is equivalent to one or two drinks in an hour, which is no where near too drunk to drive.
Whether that's all he had is another issue altogether.
For me this story has two simple messages, don't "Drink and Drive," and that we all have a moral obligation not to let our friends drive drunk.
Actually, Ken seems to have a much better grasp about how alcohol is absorbed in the bloodstream than you do, Sean. Yes, the liver breaks down about the equivalent of one drink an hour (that's a 12oz beer, 4oz wine, or 1oz shot) but if you're drinking more than that one per hour that time increases at an exponential rate. If you drink 6 drinks in one hour, it will take longer than 6 hours for it to get out of your system. That's why people can wake up after a night of heavy drinking and many hours of sleep but still be over the legal limit. Additionally, on average, having more than one drink in an hour puts a person over the legal limit of .08. You should always check your facts before you correct" someone else.
Like they say - the good die young. Well at least he killed himself and not some innocent pedestrian or a mom with a mini van full of kids. Who was this guy again?

"Lite" actually does refer to lower alcohol. The caloric content of a beer is related to the amount of alcohol in the beer although not very different. A "Brand X Beer" will have slightly more alcohol than a "Brand X Lite Beer". In regards to a "girlie" shot they very well may have less alcohol. A shot of schnaps might be 20% alcohol by volume vs. a shot of whiskey at 40% alcohol by volume. The can be very different. Regardless...it doesn't make it right.

Give the guy a break. After all, he's dead. Maybe he had a serious problem and no one to help him.

He is dead...he made a terrible move when he got behind the wheel.....stupid is as stupid does.
That is a stupid answer. He took another lfe with him. Is that justice. No excuses for being drunk behind the wheel. Sorry for the loss of life. My brother was killed by a drunk. I have no sympathy for drunk drivers. No excuses
His serious problem was handling his FAME. He thought he could anything and nothing would ever happen to him. He was WRONG!
One need not be legally intoxicated to do one stupid thing and not have time to recover control of the vehicle. Whyever it happened, it is still sad that yet another young person is now deceased.

Is anyone concerned about the state of his soul at the time of death, never having time to ask the LORD to save his soul the worst thing is not being dead, but being dead without Jesus Christ!!!
