Aishwarya Rai and Husband Expecting First Child

Indian actress Aishwarya Rai and her husband, Abhishek Bachchan are expecting a child, Just Jared reports. But the happy couple weren't the ones to let the cat out of the bag.

Bachchan's father and fellow actor, Amitabh, tweeted, "T 410 NEWS NEWS NEWS !! I AM GOING TO BECOME A GRANDFATHER .. AISHWARYA EXPECTING .. SO HAPPY AND THRILLED!!!"

'Happy and thrilled' seems like an understatement for the obviously overjoyed grandfather to be. And rightly so, this will be the first child for the actress, 37, and her husband, 35, who tied the knot in 2007.

Although Rai is India's resident sweetheart, those of us on this side of the pond will remember the exotic hazel-eyed beauty from flicks like, 'Bride & Prejudice,' 'The Pink Panther 2' and 'The Last Legion.'

They had better hope that the child isn't too brown because that is a big No-NO in Indian society. India is the skin bleaching capitol of the world.

They can move to the US or UK. You have a point. Caste system is very much alive based on hue...

Congratulations to the happy couple. My God, their babies will be gorgeous just counting on the parents' genes. They are both gorgeous and they seemed so genuine and in love. Saw them at an Oprah show last year and they are drop dead gorgeous. Congrats again.
