'Jackass' star Ryan Dunn and passenger Zachary Hartwell, were killed Monday in Pennsylvania after Dunn's Porsche went off the road, hit a guardrail and careened into the woods where it caught on fire.According to the L.A. Times, the official coroner's report confirms that blunt force trauma and thermal trauma were the official causes of death in the accident.
After an accident reconstruction, Police Chief Michael Carroll told RadarOnline.com that the Porsche 911 was going "about 130 mph" when the accident happened in a reported 55-mph zone.
"I've never seen a car destroyed in an automobile accident the way this car was even before it caught on fire," Carroll said. "The automobile actually came apart. It was unbelievable and I've been on a lot of fatal accident scenes. This is by far the worse I've ever seen."
Although there has been heavy speculation as to whether the group's night of partying had a direct influence on the fatal crash, the tragedy has been labeled an 'auto accident' rather than a 'DUI,' pending the results of a toxicology report, which will be available in four to six weeks.

...I don't approve of what he did...it was awful. But this is someone's son here. I think he died the way he lived...with reckless disregard for human life and how short life really is. But there are people who loved him and saw other parts of him we will never see. It's very, very sad..but also it is amazing no one else was killed in his quest for thrills.
I am sorry the guy and his friend died, but he is an idiot just for the fact he had been drinking and decided to do his best speed racer impersonation and crashed his car into a tree. I am just thankful he did not kill anyone else. Tragic all the same, but nobody's fault but his own.

A terrible and needless situation to say the least, but when drink and then get in your Porsche and proceed to crank it up to 130 I'd say that's pretty much the epitome of "asking for it."

No one should drive 130 mph drunk or sober.
the drunk idiot going 130 MPH, so freaking stupid, glad he didn't get another innocent person(s) killed...the other idiot with him was probably drunk as well and is his fault for catching a ride from a drunk!

Despite his poor decision to drive entirely too fast and despite the possibility that he may have been DUI, it is no less of a tragedy. Two people died. Many people who love and care about Ryan and Zachary are mourning, as would all of you if you lost a loved one. Shame on those of you who are making light of this situation and shame on those of you who are two cold-hearted to see that although a mistake was made, they did not deserve to die because of it. We are all human and make bad decisions, we are not perfect....although Ryan was a celebrity, he was still a human and therefore not perfect...he made a poor decision. Some people make poor decisions and never have to face consequences for them, some people spend their lives facing the consequences of a decision they made early in life...and some people, like Ryan, never get the chance because the ultimate consequence of a bad decision is a life cut short. My heart goes out to all of Ryan and Zachary's family and friends.
