'Jackass' star Ryan Dunn and passenger Zachary Hartwell, were killed Monday in Pennsylvania after Dunn's Porsche went off the road, hit a guardrail and careened into the woods where it caught on fire.According to the L.A. Times, the official coroner's report confirms that blunt force trauma and thermal trauma were the official causes of death in the accident.
After an accident reconstruction, Police Chief Michael Carroll told RadarOnline.com that the Porsche 911 was going "about 130 mph" when the accident happened in a reported 55-mph zone.
"I've never seen a car destroyed in an automobile accident the way this car was even before it caught on fire," Carroll said. "The automobile actually came apart. It was unbelievable and I've been on a lot of fatal accident scenes. This is by far the worse I've ever seen."
Although there has been heavy speculation as to whether the group's night of partying had a direct influence on the fatal crash, the tragedy has been labeled an 'auto accident' rather than a 'DUI,' pending the results of a toxicology report, which will be available in four to six weeks.

What difference does it make whether he was drinking or not? What are they going to do, charge him with DUI? Vehicular homicide? Raise public awareness? The public is well aware of the consequences of drinking and driving. He and his co-pilot are just as dead either way.

He DID kill someone else - the other guy in the car. Similar car accident around here about 2 weeks ago - unfortunately the 16 year old driving also killed two other teens and critically injured a third. They estimated that at the time of impact the teen was going 90+ mph. Such senseless waste of life, and tragically the drivers didn't just lose their own life, but that of others.

My opinion of drunk/drinking drivers is lower then a snakes belly but I truly hope both were dead or unconcious before the fire got to them. I had a cousin die in a fire (by Murder) and it was no easy death for the family to live with. No death is. I'm sure, no matter what we think of him, his family loved him.

This guy could have killed so many people. He looked like a druggie/alcoholic so you reap what you sow in life. I'm sorry for his family and friends. Thank God he didn't kill innocent people.

Yes I would. I would be crying for all involved. Death is sad, and losing a loved one hurts. The fact that it could have been avoided makes it even sadder. I lost six family members, four of them children, to a murderer who thought it fit to end their life by fire because he felt disrespected. Do I wish him to rot in jail, HECK YEAH!!! Do I wish him death, no. Only God can give life, and only he should be one to decide who dies. Everyone who wishes this pain on someone else, they too, unfortunatly, will have their moments and in those moments I pray that God gives you peace, as I pray for these two families.
Thank God this bozo did not wipe out an entire family or a bicyclst on his senseless rampage. Evolution at work. The less intelligent are weeded out.
