'Rhinestone Cowboy' singer, Glen Campbell, may have been diagnosed with Alzheimer's but that won't keep the 75-year-old country crooner from his music, People reports. He may just need a little extra help when it comes to remembering his famed lyrics."Glen is still an awesome guitar player and singer," his wife, Kim, told People. "But if he flubs a lyric or gets confused on stage, I wouldn't want people to think, 'What's the matter with him? Is he drunk?'"
A conclusion that the couple wanted to avoid by going public with Campbell's disease. But in lieu of his diagnosis, the singer does not seem to be slowing down. The chart-topping Grammy-winner is hoping to organize a farewell tour with a full schedule of live performances kicking off this fall.

Those neurons in the brain are vulnerable to alcohol. He must have burned them up over the years. It's a shame.

Thank you for that information professor. Now go clean your bedroom or mom won't buy you any ice cream.
Could be. Too bad.
Well, bright boy. There are plenty of people who have over-consumed alcohol, but never got alzheimers. And there are those who have never drank alcohol and developed the disease. (You're likely one of the dimwitted folk who believe that only alcoholics get liver disease.) Your medical practice--the one in your head--must not be doing well.
dear mr baggett my mother has this disease and never drank a drop of alcohol, so I suggest if you have never known anyone with this disease then you just need to shut up!

Hey Ed, you must be one of those guys living under a rock. Either that or you're so young you think the Beatles are old music. Yes, I agree that Glen did do drugs and drink too much when he was younger but that does not add to the prediliction for Alheimzer. I too know people who have never had a drink of alcohol in their lives but are now developing the disease. So look up both Glen Campbell and Alheimzers in the encyclopedia.
whats an encyclopedia ?
I am so sorry to hear this. I saw my partner of 28 years die of alzheimers 2 years ago. We got the diagnosis about the same age as Glenn (75) and he lasted 3 years. The last year was the worst with all the trappings of wheel chairs, oxygen, changing diapers and hand feeding. We kept him home up until his last 19 days when he was placed in hospice. It was an awful journey. I feel even more sorry for his wife and family. They are the ones who will suffer the most. Peace to you Glen Campbell. You dont deserve to go out this way!

No one deserves this disease....I, too, have great empathy for the caregivers.
My heart goes out to you marcus. Your Partner was 1 lucky guy.
I hope Gleen sells his tix @ 1/2 price if he's going to be doing Amy Whinehouse concerts.
I pray for his family's strength.. It is called "The Beholders Disease"..as the ones who watch them are the ones that watch, behold, them during the process.. Justly named I think..
It is sad news to hear. His beautiful voice and songs enriched my younger years. My heartfelt sympathy for all who have this disease and for their caregivers who suffer along with them. Glen, you blessed us with your voice. May your last days, months or years be spent in safety with those who care.
Ed, you throw that first stone, you've done no wrong in your life. Why would you say that to a sick man?

bss217, Ed says what he says because he is a sick man.
