'Rhinestone Cowboy' singer, Glen Campbell, may have been diagnosed with Alzheimer's but that won't keep the 75-year-old country crooner from his music, People reports. He may just need a little extra help when it comes to remembering his famed lyrics."Glen is still an awesome guitar player and singer," his wife, Kim, told People. "But if he flubs a lyric or gets confused on stage, I wouldn't want people to think, 'What's the matter with him? Is he drunk?'"
A conclusion that the couple wanted to avoid by going public with Campbell's disease. But in lieu of his diagnosis, the singer does not seem to be slowing down. The chart-topping Grammy-winner is hoping to organize a farewell tour with a full schedule of live performances kicking off this fall.

Mr. Campbell, like countless others, has had his own issues.
Years ago I was watching a TV special and when Glen walked out on stage, it brought the house DOWN. It almost brought me to tears.

My Mother died from this horrible disease and she did not drink. Hopefully they will find a cure for this, and soon. Good luck Mr. Glen Campbell. My mother was one of your favorites.

Glen has had a remarkable career and is one of my all time gavorites. His early work written by Jimmy Webb are some of the most beautiful country music songs ever recorded. I wish Glen all the best. Maybe I'll get a chance to catch one of his Farewell Shows.

My mother has had this disease for a number of years. She now does not know anyone in her family. She sits and sleeps, she has no appetite... She's a shell... She was a vibrant, full of fun mom. She loved to sing and be the center of attention.. Not anymore.. It robs them of life, and it robs us of our loved ones.

Tina I feel your pain, my mom has had this for several years now, it's been so bad that she doesn't even know she is a great grandmother for three years, nor does she know that her husband died two years ago. It 's a sad life. And Glen Campbell you go for it, stay strong and continue to sing your heart out. My all time favorite Rhinestone Cowboy.
My grandma had alzheimer's from age 79 to 83. It can be rough --very, very rough.
Hopefully, it may be a slower onset and development and afford some more good years. I will pray for that.

My 88 year old mother has Alsheimers. It is just shocking at how bad they can get. My mom now thinks that machines are in the attic of every house in the neighborhood listening to her. She thinks that dead people are still alive and live people are now dead....she is an absolute mess. As my late father said frequently....."there is NO reward for getting old
