Ryan Dunn at Double the Legal Alcohol Limit at Time of Crash

After much speculation, it has been confirmed that Ryan Dunn was intoxicated when he
drove his Porsche off of a Pennsylvania road at
130 MPH Monday morning, killing himself and his passenger,
Zachary Hartwell.
After an autopsy and toxicology reports were conducted, it was concluded that Dunn had the legal alcohol limit nearly doubled. His blood alcohol level was .196 while the legal limit in Pennsylvania is .08, according to
TMZ.
Dunn reportedly consumed at least three beers and a number of shots -- one round of drinks which he documented in a photo he posted to his Tumblr account just hours before his death.
But according to West Goshen Police Chief Michael Carroll, "No other substances were found in his blood other than the alcohol."
Both Dunn and Hartwell were killed instantly by blunt force head trauma upon impact, before their vehicle burst into flames.
"I've never seen a car destroyed in an automobile accident the way this car was even before it caught on fire," Carroll said previously. "The automobile actually came apart. It was unbelievable and I've been on a lot of fatal accident scenes. This is by far the worse I've seen."
Dunn's colleagues and friends, including Bam Margera, Johnny Knoxville and Steve-O, have been showing their love for the fallen jokester and stunt man, remembering the kind and comedic member of the 'Jackass' family.

I don't think anyone is shocked by this.

Does anyone think this is the first time this guy drove while intoxicated? Must've done it his whole adult life. Many people do but they aren't idiots like this guy and go at 130 miles an hour. They at least realize they're drunk, don't want to get stopped by the police, and stay within the speed limit. But I guess when you get mangled in the movies doing wacko stunts you must figure you're invincible. Surprised he lasted this long.

There was an article on a different site earlier today that said he had 21 citations including a good percentage for DUI.
Granted math isn't my best subject, but if the legal limit is .08, and .08 x 2 = .16, then how is .196 "nearly double" the legal limit?

No wonder there are no facts in these articles. The writers can't even do multiplication. Nearly double the limit? 2 X 0.08 = 0.16. Clearly more than double at 0.196. Closer to 2.5x. Or maybe the writer is just as drunk as Ryan.

sorry k, yours had not posted yet when I wrote mine...
Not only bad math...worse grammar.
"After an autopsy and toxicology reports were conducted, it was concluded that Dunn had the legal alcohol limit nearly doubled."
What's up with that?
Autopsies are conducted and reports written...and Dunn's alcohol level was nearly double the legal limit...well, was actually more than twice the legal limit.
Someone needs to take away Kiki's crayons.
Roger Ebert was right!

Um, Hello, Popeater? .196 is not "nearly" double the legal limit of .08, it is more than double the limit... 2x.08 is .16, .196 > .16, actually "nearly" two and a half times the legal limit...

So, I guess Roger was right after all: "Friends don't let Jacka**s drive drunk.

Pretty serious business if this report is false because I also heard it would take 4-6 weeks for an official toxicology report to be released. Even the reported story is suspect when it states "he was nearly twice the legal limit which is .08 in Pennsylvania) Well if his B.A.C was .196 he would be at twice the limit at .160 which if .196 is the correct number he's closer to being 2 1/2 times the legal limit that the reported "nearly 2 times" unless they have...let me see... a 1st grader writing the story!!! Maybe even that's an overstatement because I think many kindergartners can do that math.

Now, now, be nice. You don't actually get to fraction until the 2nd grade...
Pretty serious business if the report is true and you won't accept it.
It's not - I saw other articles about it too.
First rule: Don't believe everything you read. Second rule: Although the essence of a story may be correct, don't expect good grammar, spelling, editing, logic or ethics in regard to reporters or news people anymore because they can't be bothered with such unimportant indicators of professionalism. The days of "honesty in reporting" are long gone.
"it was concluded that Dunn had the legal alcohol limit nearly doubled. His blood alcohol level was .196 while the legal limit in Pennsylvania is .08"
-"nearly doubled"? whoever wrote this should go back to elementary school. thats almost 2.5 times the legal limit.

I feel for the close friends and family of these two careless and irresponsible men who caused them grief by their stupidity. However I am glad an innocent person or child was not a victim. These two losers do not deserve any pity.

Idiot could have killed an innocent person.

I was convinced by the number of viewers of Jersey Shore and reality shows in general that people are irresponsible idiots and this is no exception.

some people have to learn the hard way that drinking and driving is wrong. I have no sympathy for drunk drivers
