Friend: George Clooney Dumped Elisabetta Canalis

The celebrity world was shocked when news hit that George Clooney and longtime girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis split up--but no one may have been as surprised as Canalis herself!

One of the model's close friends, Chi magazine editor Alfonso Signorini, opened up about the couple's relationship and breakup.

"It's all over," Signorini said on Italian TV show 'Rai Uno' Thursday [via UsMagazine.com.] "It has come as a real surprise to me. They were getting on really well."

Just last week, the editor spent the day with Canalis and things appeared fine. "She must have had about 60 text messages from George! She was so excited about meeting him as he had a few days off from shooting his film in London," he recalled.

As for the split, he revealed: "From what I know it was him who dumped her and she stormed out of the villa. I've tried to get her on the telephone but it's switched off."

Signorini also got more in depth about Clooney and Canalis's love story. "I can tell you it was all for real. They were deeply affectionate towards each other, " he said. But, it clearly wasn't perfect: "[Clooney] is actually very fatherly but at the same time they did have a very complicated relationship...It's not easy to be with a star of that caliber," Signorini added.

Ever think that George set the limits of the relationship which did not include marriage for this confirmed bachelor, and she was quoted as saying she could change him and wanted to be married. Duh? What part of that didn't she get? A tiger never changes their stripes. She should have known that from the get-go. Neither will have any trouble moving on.

Elizabetha, go find someone that you can have a real life with. Have the children that you want. George will not give that to you. Just take your memories of a good time and move on. George you are not getting any younger and pretty soon you will look foolish when you start to date women that could be your child.

The pretty women all want eye candy that could afford to give them a rock of a wedding ring and put them up in a fancy lifestyle. The plain and simple women of the world, are extremely happy when they find love, they don't need a ring and would be happy and content just being in a relationship and spending the rest of their live with such a good looking man. Only problem is George would never look this far down, he has to stay with his elite and famous crowds. Someone like me would never get a second glance.
