Singer James Blunt has gone viral once again -- but it's not because of his music. The British singer has recently ignited quite the controversy over this photo posted on his Facebook page with the simple caption "Err... this is my hotel in Poland."
As NBC reports, the picture may seem harmless with Blunt posing in front of a dilapidated building, but it's the building's close proximity to the Nazi concentration camp Auschwitz that has enraged fans and anti-fans alike on the comments section of Blunt's Facebook page.
Over 6,000 people have commented on the singer's photo in a variety of languages stating their discontent. According to The Daily Mail, Blunt actually stayed in a five-star hotel before his performance at the Life Festival in Poland.

Leave it to an ignorant Brit to think something like this is FUNNT..No wonder, we as Americans rejected you 200 years ago

You as Americans may have rejected our ANCESTORS 200 years ago but you still TRY to use our Language today and its now the Brits that reject you and your overbearing ways Today.. Its a pity our Government cant see what self centered idiots you all are .
We are the self centered ones? lol That's the pot calling the kettle black. Go back to your "royal" wedding details and your "royal" family gossiping and leave the politics to others.
I don't get it. He showed a building that was near Aushwitz and it is a crime? Wha? How dumb is this? What a bunch of ridiculous people are on this earth.

I was wondering the same thing. It is not like he showed a Picture OF Auschwitz. Some people are really Overly sensative. I know several survivors OF Auschwitz and they are not offended by this pic at all.
Right. A joke about a building in close proximity to Auschwitz. That's a crime now? Was the building used by the Nazis in WWII?
I'm not even a fan and think this "fury" is ridiculous unless there's more to it.
Nancy, I'm in 100% agreement with you. People just LOVE finding any, and I mean AMY reason to angry. Let it go, everyone....REALLY!
My thoughts exactly, Nancy. Someone can't show a building that has nothing to do with Auschwitz just because it happens to be near Auschwitz? How does that make any sense? People are WAAAY too sensitive these days in my opinion. I say that with no disrespect to the people who they themselves or have had family members that endured the horror of Auschwitz. I seriosly doubt Blunt meant any harm. I wonder if the proximity of his location to Auschwitz even crossed his mind.
I find this photo in very bad taste. I am a Brit and I think James Blunt should keep his mouth shut and pick more appropriate background to his photos. I hope he is finished.

What is wrong with you all people? Can't you see the building is still under construction? Haven't you ever seen a construction site? Think all Poland lives in unfinished houses?
And where is that Auschwitz on that photo?!? I mean.... what is wrong with you?!?
OMG people get over it....We don't even know how close to Auschwitz the photo was taken

Well no matter where in eastern Europe the picture was taken it would be in bad taste, the building is a piece of crap, so he's making fun of their crappy building in their poor country. I guess being a brit everythings perfect where he is from. What was the douche bag thinking ?

Touchy, touchy! I think Mr. Blunt was attempting to be funny, ironic maybe. He surely doesn't deserve all the criticism.

OMG People!!!
Can you lose your minds about something IMPORTANT??
For god's sake. Auschwitz was SEVENTY YEARS AGO.
It's no longer relevant.
You're concerned about someone saying "I stayed in a hotel NEAR Auschwitz"????
GET A DAMN LIFE!

Sorry to burst your bubble,Angela, but Auschwitz will ALWAYS be relevant.Ask any of the survivors if they think it's relevant, even if it was 70 years ago and didn't happen yesterday and doesn't involve some so called celebrity behaving badly.History will always be relevant.
no disrespect but whats the big deal...this generation had nothing to do with that past! grow up people and stop looking for a fight over nothing.........I believe HITLER is DEAD......... right

IT WAS A JOKE PEOPLE, GET OVER IT!!!!!!!

I don't get it. What is the controversy? He had his picture taken and he posted it on FB. There is nothing in this article that explains WHY people are upset. How would people even know that this was near Auschwits? Is there something about the building that screams concentration camp? I really do not understand...
