Michael Lohan: 'Forget Jail, Lindsay Needs Rehab'

After testing positive for alcohol while under house arrest, Lindsay Lohan has been ordered to return to court Thursday morning for violating her probation terms. And, right on time, Lohan's media regular father, Michael Lohan, is speaking out about his daughter's inability to stay on the straight and narrow or surround herself with positive influences.

"If it's true, whatever she's doing isn't right," Lohan told PopEater's Rob Shuter. "There's a chubby English girl named Nikki who is always around her and when she is, I get a sick feeling and there is always a problem."

Just over a week ago Lohan threw a party on the roof of her Venice, California home. The troubled starlet, who was still under house arrest at that time, looked to be enjoying herself as did her friends -- Lohan was spotted drinking from a red cup while her friends enjoyed beers and wine.

Just days after her rooftop shindig, Lohan told Life & Style that although she hosts friends at her home occasionally, their socializing never revolves around alcohol.

"When my friends come over, they're not drinking," she said. "Alcohol is not in my house, so it's not part of my life."

The disconnect between what Lohan says and does is what keeps her father up at night.

"I'm so worried about my daughter," Michael Lohan told Radar Online. "I'm very, very concerned about the people around Lindsay and the pressure being put upon her. If it turns out that the test was positive, then I have strong concerns because if a person can't stay straight in the house where can she stay straight?"

But when it comes to Lindsay's violated probation due to a failed routine alcohol test, father Lohan is fearful that a judge may rule to send his daughter to the slammer -- a decision he believes could only further harm her. Instead, he has his own ideas for Lindsay's recovery.

"I'm still opposed to jail," he said. "She needs to go to rehab. She needs to be in a program called G&G Holistic in Florida. They will not only give her rehabilitation, but they are a detoxification center and they don't believe in prescription drugs. I don't think Lindsay needs to be on any prescription drugs, and I think that's part of the problem."

Although Lohan was expected to complete her house arrest time on June 29, with her pending Thursday court appearance, the starlet could be sentenced to additional house arrest or even jail time.

Her dad always says forget jail she needs rehab. Well guess what pops she did the whole rehab thing and it obviously didn't work out! She needs a swift kick in the arse and a jail stint!

Rehab hasn't worked before what make you think it will work now? He needs to keep his mouth shut, he isn't helping her, she is beyond help. She needs months in jail away from everybody and everything, if she is to ever get better.

This man is unblievable. This girl HAS been in rehab and it has never worked. She needs something a lot stronger ..like jail. They need to stop playing around with her and show her she is not above the law. She does not believe that they will put her in jail because they keep giving her more and more chances. Stop it and do the right thing for her. Let her sit in jail and think about where her life is going instead of spending her house arrest with the very people that are problems for her. AND that father of hers is just afraid of what will happen to his meal ticket. He is disgusting and WHERE is this girls mother now. She is the biggest enabler.

Oh, Mr. Lohan... She's been to rehab quite a few times, and it's not done a thing. She's done the ankle monitoring units, bail bonds, and the house arrest. She's been given break after break when if it were the rest of us, we'd be rotting in a cell. Give us a freakin' break! The woman broke the law time and again, and she needs to reap the consequences. Send her to jail, and don't budge because her lawyer threatens to appeal. It's cut and dry, and it's time she pays the piper. Lock her up, and stop giving her the media attention.

Rehab hasn't done anything for her; this girl does not has any care for her actions. She has been slapped too many times on the wrist, i believe jail will at the very least wake her up to the reality of her problem. But what can I expect from her father who is battling his own addiction. This whole family needs therapy.

STFU, ML. Been there, done rehab. She has no interest in maintaining her sobriety, obviously. It's WAY past time she's tossed in a small, smelly jail cell. Perhaps that will inspire her to get her act together. But I doubt it.

Once again Michael shows us his terrible parenting skills by making the wrong choice for his daughter. Rehab has not worked. She needs serious jail time to let the gravity of what she has done sink in. Until she goes to jail for the full sentence, with NO revolving door, she's going to continue to f@ck up. And she's in her 20's...Michael really has no say so why won't he just shut up?

Rehab has not worked because she wont work it.Do the jail time first then go back to rehab. She needs to face why she drinks that deep seeded problems that makes her want to drink.Been sober for almost 14 years finally hit it head on why I drank.Stay away from hollywood AA its nothing but a fashion show go to a place where people are almost in the gutter and see were you may end up.

Lindsay needs to be treated like ANYONE else is treated when they get into trouble. No cameras, no paparazzi, no movie deals, no special attention. She's old enough to fend for herself. She can continue on her own personal train wreck, or she can straighten up & work for a living. If she succeeds, good for her, if she fails, who cares?

I am so sick of lindsay, she has been given way more chances than you or i would ever get. And she is thumbing her nose up at the judge and the law and it is sickening that she keeps getting a walk!!!!! I would never watch anything with her again.
