'Smallville' Actor Sam Jones Sentenced To 1 Year in Jail for Drug Bust

'Smallville' actor Sam Jones III, has been sentenced to a year in prison for his role in a drug ring.

TMZ is reporting that Jones plead guilty to conspiracy to sell more than 10,000 pills of Oxycodone, a painkiller, and was sentenced to 366 days in prison, even though the prosecutor wanted him to serve 5 years.

It is reported that before sentencing Jones pleaded with the judge to show mercy explaining that he had lost everything including his dog, car and his acting role in 'Blue Mountain State' due to the drugs charges.

The judge showed leniency and said he was cutting the actor a break due to his "minor" role in the drug deal.

E! Online is reporting that in addition to the jail term, the judge has ordered that Jones to serve three years supervised probation once he's released from a jail.

Jones Tweeted a message after his sentencing, "Just got out of court! God is Great!! #FAITH!!!"

The 28-year-old actor was busted in 2009 after a raid at his home was conducted by DEA agents looking to shut down a drug ring trading in the illegal purchase and distribution of Oxycontin.

Jones, currently free on bond, will have to surrender to authorities once it is determined which prison he will be going to serve his sentence.

Last week Jones' ex girlfriend, Playboy model Karissa Shannon, reportedly packed up and moved into the Playboy Mansion with her twin sister Kristina to be back with Hugh Hefner.

The Shannon Twins were Hefner's girlfriends in 2008 and moved out when the 85-year-old playboy founder announced his engagement to his now 'Runaway Bride' Crystal Harris, in 2010.

They are now back to console Hefner, after Harris left him a few days before the marriage, along with his reported new girlfriend Anna Sophia Berglund.

Living with a playmate, dealing drugs...how does this involve God? Maybe should have thought about God before making these poor choices instead of after. With his attitude, I agree he'll be back for more in the future.

It amazes when they are white drug users/sellers (Lindsey Lohan-user), she needs help, but when they are Black, they deserve jail time....the only person going back for more will be Lindsey Lohan........

How many times has Lindsey Lohan dodged jail time??? I guess when you're taking the drugs yourself and not selling them, that makes it ok... Or maybe it's another black and white thing. Either way it's strange the he would get jail time for selling and she doesn't get any for using...
