'Raising Hope' Actor Garret Dillahunt Sneaks Knife Through TSA, Tweets About It

If you're a fan of 'stupid thief' videos, then this is right up your alley. While on route to catch a flight, 'Raising Hope' actor, Garret Dillahunt, made a sharp pass through airport security, bringing with him some strictly off-limits contraband -- a small hunting knife.

"Oops. Walked right through airport security with this little number," Dillahunt tweeted on Monday afternoon along with a twitpic of the knife in his hand.

Although he got through security scot-free with the weapon, we're not sure that tweeting about his stealth move is going to get him any frequent flyer miles, or even a seat on the plane.

"Arrest this tweeter!" Rain Wilson tweeted in response to his pal's seemingly gloating feat.

Not grasping the potential gravity of his TSA tisk tisk, Dillahunt responded to Wilson, "If I ever get outta this there will be a reckoning. It was a misTAKE, all right? I'm a whittler, plain and simple."

It's so easy to smuggle past the TSA. Go dressed in full muslim gear. Hide the gun under your bushy beard. But carry a small baby. They'll sptrip search the child every time.

How about that? He's the right age for a terrorist with a knife and that poor sick old lady gets strip searched. There is something really wrong with the TSA

Seriously? Are we to that point where we support this kind of thing? We used to be able to eat with steak knives on planes. We used to be able to walk in and see people off. Do you really want to live in a world where we are so over scrutinized? I think we should be scrutinizing the people in charge more and the populace a whole lot less.

My cousin realized that they didn't stop her at security with her lighter and a rather large bottle of water. She wasn't testing them,just forgot they were in her bag. Makes you wonder what else is getting through?! Scary!

This happened to me just recently. My husband and I went to visit our family in another state and my niece and nephews stuck things in our bags. We thought we got all of it out, but the night we got back home we found a metal steak knife in our CARRY ON bag. Had someone found this out at the airport I don't know what would have happened, but we would have gladly chucked it out. We felt really odd and unsafe when we got home and figured out it had been with us the whole time. It was a little unnerving.

Friend recently traveled back to NY from Florida. She decided to literally walk through the airport and check in wearing her barely there string bikini with a see through wrap. When she reached security to go through the scanner thing she was told she could NOT enter until she was dressed!!! She puts on her shorts and tank top right in front of them, and after she goes through the scanner crap they frisk her!!!! True story! Just happened two weeks ago.

Really? If anyone has ever been through airport security you know that isn't very likely and if he in fact did then he should expect a visit from the authorities and to also goo onto the no-fly list. What a moron.

Seriously, they are too busy frisking old ladies, little children, all in the name of safety. If they were really looking at the screens instead of diapers, they would have caught it. It is all so rediculous.

This was a stupid stunt. However who is this guy? And no, I'm NOT pretending not to know who he is. I have NEVER heard of him or "Raising Hope." Guess I don't watch much TV.

Having whittled with Garret in our younger days, I'm just proud he got it through. I was nearly stripped searched flying out of our home town airport on my way to Hollywood on Thursday after triggering the "random" search button going through the metal detector. Good for you Garret!

TSA is just theater and a big moneymaker for a few at that. We've ALL gotten things through "security," either by accident or on purpose. It's time to end this sham.
