Neil Patrick Harris Announces Engagement to David Burtka
Neil Patrick Harris announced on Twitter that he is engaged to his long time partner David Burtka.
Following the New York state senate's passage of the Marriage Equality Bill on Friday night, Harris took to Twitter to
celebrate the news and announce his engagement.
The 'How I Met Your Mother' actor
tweeted, "It PASSED! Marriage equality in NY!! Yes!! Progress!! Thank you everyone who worked so hard on this!! A historic night!"
Harris also
revealed that he was engaged to Burtka and they have been waiting for the right moment to reveal the news, "David and I did propose to each other, but over five years ago! We've been wearing engagement rings for ages, waiting for an available date."
After the bill was passed, a follower of Burtka asked him on Twitter, "So propose to your bf"
Burtka
tweeted back, "I've already purposed, he said yes! Thank god!"
Burtka also
revealed, "Neil and I have been wearing rings for years. We have been engaged for a while. It did not just happen."
Harris and Burtka are the proud parents of
fraternal twins, Harper and Gideon. The babies were born in October 2010 via a surrogate.
Just before the New York Senate passed the bill to legalize gay marriage, Harris had
tweeted, "I'd sure love to get married. Please, NY Senate, vote in favor of marriage equality today. My family would really appreciate it."
Looks like Harris got his wish.

It's not nice to talk about yourself like that!
Congrats to NPH!!!
I FIND IT DIFFICULT TO LOOK AT NPH....HIS HEAD IS SO ILL SHAPED AND CONTORTED
Congratulations. Life is the pursuit of happiness and well being.

Congratulations!! I'm truly happy that you have
the opportunity to get married!!
I care not if people are gay or straight.
I'm just happy to see the love!
There's not enough love in this world. So when
two people find each other and can be happy, then
I say more power to them!!

What if a polyamorous (more than 2 lovers involved) group of people find "love" and want to get married? Are you happy to see this, as well?
Vile and disgusting. The Bible makes it abundantly clear that homosexuals will not inherit God's kingdom. That means an eternity of constant torment in a very real Hell for all sodomites.

And YOU will be among the very LAST people let into heaven for intolerance is NOT one of God's teachings...I am not gay, but YOU are the one who is vile and disgusting. Love one another I believe, is what God teaches, not discrimination.
You are an idiot!! Read some other books and expose yourself to more culture and lifestyle. A misuse of the Bible and religion doesn't serve you well.
Man wrote the bible anyway... to govern people. Anyone with an intelligent mind can see that homosexuality is not always a choice... go research Alfred Kinsey and the Kinsey scale.
I believe in a "civil" ceremony, with "all" the same rights as a man and woman would have, (every bit the same). From health options to end of life matters , etc.etc.
But a marriage should only be between a man and a woman.
I'm not homophobic, as I have a few "wonderful" cousins who are gay, and I love them dearly... this is just my personal opinion.

seems to be too many of them to call them freaks of nature. that is usually reserved for very rare occurances. this is a part of nature. look around u. u dont have to do it, but it is not ur business if others choose to.

Congrats to both of you! From a very straight woman - this is a historic event! I cannot wait until every state recognizes that marriage is a right EVERYONE should have - no matter their sexual orientation!

Marriage is a right??? Go read your constitution first then read your Bible. Geeshh, marriage is a right....I can't stop laughing
Oh for f's sake stop with the religious B.S...I'm not gay but you bible thumpers make me sick. You are the biggest, nastiest hypocrites on the planet. No one gave you religion so that you could use it to discriminate against others. I'm sure you're the first ones to rail against Islam and Muslims saying "it's a violent terrorist religion" and yet you all act like Christian terrorists perverting your religion to justify your own bigotry. Jesus said "stay the F out of other people's business". Get a life - go jump off a bridge maybe you'll find God!

i know whole lot more Bible then u buddy and it says that homosexiually is wrong and your just as bad as then .
Cute couple. Wonder which one will cheat first? Now they, too, can deal with divorce instead of just walking away. Be careful of the things you wish for.

New York is so doomed . Can you say Sodom and Gomorrah ? Then the Lord rained brimstone and fire on Sodom and Gomorrah, from the Lord out of the heavens" Genesis 19:24. "Turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example to those who afterward would live ungodly" II Peter 2:6. (The word for "example" means an exhibit for warning.)

You are sooo right on the money with what you said !!! We've been a blessed nation for many years but accepting homosexuality, which according to the bible is an abomination to God, brings us one step closer to Him turning his back on this country.
