Neil Patrick Harris Announces Engagement to David Burtka

Neil Patrick Harris announced on Twitter that he is engaged to his long time partner David Burtka.

Following the New York state senate's passage of the Marriage Equality Bill on Friday night, Harris took to Twitter to celebrate the news and announce his engagement.

The 'How I Met Your Mother' actor tweeted, "It PASSED! Marriage equality in NY!! Yes!! Progress!! Thank you everyone who worked so hard on this!! A historic night!"

Harris also revealed that he was engaged to Burtka and they have been waiting for the right moment to reveal the news, "David and I did propose to each other, but over five years ago! We've been wearing engagement rings for ages, waiting for an available date."

After the bill was passed, a follower of Burtka asked him on Twitter, "So propose to your bf"

Burtka tweeted back, "I've already purposed, he said yes! Thank god!"

Burtka also revealed, "Neil and I have been wearing rings for years. We have been engaged for a while. It did not just happen."

Harris and Burtka are the proud parents of fraternal twins, Harper and Gideon. The babies were born in October 2010 via a surrogate.

Just before the New York Senate passed the bill to legalize gay marriage, Harris had tweeted, "I'd sure love to get married. Please, NY Senate, vote in favor of marriage equality today. My family would really appreciate it."

Looks like Harris got his wish.

Into the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, the Lord God sent his angels and the people of the cities. The people of the cities did not show hospitality at all until the angels came upon Lott and his family. The hospitality of Lott saved him when the angels directed them to leave the cities and not look back. Remember that Lott's wife did look back and was turned to a pillar of salt. That the cities were destroyed due their lack of hospitality unto the angels is the reason, is it not so?
The names of the cities have been twisted by man to represent the wages of sex & sin. Not the lack of being kind unto a stranger or even not throwing stones because you are afraid.
All the best to all my friends, straight and gay, who have found someone to share their life with. Go Neil & David, I hope you both have a wonderful life together. You both will look sharp in a tux for the wedding. Yeah!!! Stop the hate, feel the love.

I have been 'married' 63 years and I am changing my 'marriage' status to something else. I don't want to use the word 'married' anymore. I'm ashamed of that word now.

Actually, if you observe nature, you can see plenty of male on male activity......cats, dogs, and horses are ones I have personally seen over the years. It is simply due to a different wiring in the brain. I don't know why people get so upset about others who are gay. Think about it...you and I may not be able to imagine a gay sexual experience, and that is how most gay men and women probably feel about heterosexual experiences. What is the big deal?
